One night a certain girl is watching the stars in the night sky. Her name is Rian, a petite 10-years-old village girl that have a ponytail and a handkerchief wrap around her head and has a black hair and brown eyes.   “Sigh! No matter how many times I look at them, the stars never cease to mesmerize me”.   Her eyes were always sparkling as she looks at the stars. But while watching them by her window before she goes to sleep, a certain shooting star catches her attention because it was moving in a weird way. She saw many shooting stars before, but this one is very different. All the shooting stars she saw before were very fast and vanishes easily. But this one is very different because she notices that it moves in a spiral manner and it is getting bigger as she continues to watch it.   “Wow! That one is weird but interesting!”   Her curiosity was triggered and decided to go outside for a better view. But a she walks towards the door; her parents saw her and stops her from going outside.   “Hey Rian! Where are you going at this hour?! Go to sleep already!”. Her mother said.   Being caught red handed, she can’t give any excuses because it was already too late and she’s still awake. She quickly went back to her room and check if the shooting star is still there. But by the time she looks at the sky, it was nowhere to be found.   “Tch! Ahhh!” *pout* “...... I was a fool deciding to go outside when I can already watch it from here!”   As frustrated as she is, she decided to go to bed and sleep all her regrets away. At the same time that night, some of the villagers saw the star landed in the forest.   *Crush!!* *Loud noises* *Impact* It created a massive crater that destroys the surrounding trees but luckily no animals or beast were present in the scene. [young master, young master, are you alright?]   “*cough* yes I am fine, but let me sleep for a couple of hours, I am somehow tired *yawn*”   [okay, as you wish young master…]   The man in the middle of the crater sleeps like nothing happened. In the morning, when Rian wakes up and do her daily chores which is sweeping the leaves in the front yard.   “There are so many leaves again today *sigh*”   “Well… that’s also strange to me, because as far as I know winter should start two months from now, but strange things happen a lot lately, wonder what’s the cause?”   “…… Ah! Mother? Um……can you help me sweep these? *Sparkly eyes*”   “No can-do little girl hmm-mm, I am busy preparing for breakfast”   “But! but......*teary eyes*”   Rian is frustrated because of the number of leaves that is needs to be sweep.   “Alright fine, I can’t leave the dishes I’m cooking but…hmm I will allow you to use your magic just don’t overdo it okay?”   “*big smile* Yes mom! I will… then here I go!” -Thanks to big sister Fio I awaken my wind magic…. but it’s a shame that I have yet to master it... *gloom*… but anyway at least I don’t faint now haha…-   “I told you to not overdo it okay?”   “Yes, of course I remember mother, I promise I won’t overdo i……t” *Exhausted*   Rian’s control over her magic is not actually great and her amount of mana is little. She gets exhausted easily after casting a single spell.   “Rian!... see? I told you to not overdo it….”. her mother is worried while supporting her to stand up.   Her mother looks at her daughter’s teary eyes.   “Okay fine, I will ask your brother Ren to do that, you just need to rest for now…. Geez! It’s too early in the morning and you’re already exhausted”   “Hehe, sorry mom, I got too excited, I thought I get a little better in handling my wind magic but I can’t still seem to control my mana usage”   “Yes, yes… but be thankful that you just need to rest for a short time to replenish your mana, I heard other mages need at least half a day to recover if their mana pool depleted…. Hmmm maybe my daughter is a genius?! *giggle*”   “Come on mom, I told you already, right? it’s all thanks to big sister Fio who awaken my potential in magic”   “Yes, yes the girl who save you a year ago right? *menacing* when you secretly enter the forest of doom…?” her mother’s aura is very scary.   “Oh, come on mom! I already said sorry to you a million times about that…” *Pat*   “Yes, I know, just don’t do that kind of thing again okay? Even though I didn’t meet the girl who saves you I am still very thankful that she saves my little angel…” she hugs Rian gently while patting her head.   “*Yawn* Good morning mom, morning sis”   “Oh, great timing Ren, can you continue to sweep the leaves in the front yard your sister gets exhausted easily when she uses her wind magic again”   Ren is Rian’s twin brother and have the same feature as her except that Ren has a thing for money, his love on money is on par with his love towards his family.   “Geez! Sis, being exhausted early in the morning is not a good thing you know?”.   Ren grabs the broom and went to the front yard.    “You owe me for this one”.   “Ah yes, yes I will remember that, thanks Ren”   30 minutes later.   “*Yawn*, Ah I’m already…... okay!? This is the fastest recovery so far! well it’s a good thing so I will not worry about it”   “Oh! You’re already, okay? That’s surprising!”   “Yes! Are there any chores left?”   “Well…. hmmm then can I leave shopping to you for today’s lunch? Let’s eat breakfast first, call your dad and Ren.   “Yes ma’am! Your beautiful daughter will complete your given task”   “Yes, yes, I’m so happy now carry on”   After eating, she then gave Rian a list of ingredients and a basket and Rian excitedly went on her way to the market. While buying the ingredients she passes to some folks and heard what they’re talking about.   “Hey.... did you saw it last night?”   “Yes, I saw it”   “I saw it too!”   “Apparently, it landed in the Forest of Doom”   “Really?! I want to check what it was but the forest of doom is a bit... “   “You’re right! If it landed there then it is already a lost cause”   While listening to their conversation Rian suddenly butt in.   “Excuse me mister? can I have one pack of meat please?”   “Ah yes, just a moment!”   The folks that the meat vendor was talking too went on their way due to Rian’s interference.   “Say mister? what were you talking about with those guys earlier?”   The meat vendor looks at Rian with suspicious eyes. Rian also look back at him showing her curiosity. The vendor closes his eyes and smiles.   “*sigh* can’t beat the curiosity of children huh?”   “Can you share it with now please? *Teary eyes*”   “Okay fine! Since you insist…. we were talking about the star that falls in the forest of doom last night”   Rian suddenly burst a word.   “Really?! w-was that star moving in a weird way before it falls down!?”   The vendor was startled.   “Ye-yes! It did! but unluckily it went to that forest”   “So, it landed huh? No wonder I couldn’t see it again when I went back to my room last night”   “Where did it landed mister?”   “Too bad it landed in the forest of doom”   “In the forest of doom huh? That’s bad luck”   “I feel you little girl, I was hoping to look for it this morning but since it landed there, I give it up”   The vendor’s mood becomes gloomy and he lets out a depressing sigh.   “The metal found in the crash site of a star can fetch for a thousand gold at least, and here I was thinking that I will finally be rich!”   “Is that so?”   “Yes! Otherworldly metals are so strong it outclasses the world’s strongest metals which is adamantite… But they are rarely found and really difficult to handle but when handed to a very skilled blacksmith and forge it to a sword or an armor, the result will be unimaginable Currently, the only sword that is forge from a star is the sword of the white knight commander, her gracious Fionna Glacier-sama!”   The eyes of the vender took the shape of a heart as he shakes his hips in a weird manner.   “Ahhh! Fiona-sama! she will be more amazing when she became the next queen”   Rian was kind of disgusted and decided to go home but the vendor stops her.   “W-wait young lady!”   Rian was surprise but the vendor only handed her change for the meat that she bought.   “Ahh! Hahaha, thank you very much mister”   “You’re welcome young lady, by the way don’t get any wrong ideas like going to the forest of doom huh?”   “That forest is the home of many dangerous beast and one of the four calamity beasts also resides there, you know what that means right!?”    While the vendor is lecturing Rian, she gives him a force smile.   “Gee mister! even I know how dangerous the forest of Doom is come on now I won’t do that”   That was a lie, the truth is Rian is the type of girl that gets her curiosity overwhelm her. After arriving in their home and handing the groceries to her mother she quickly went to her room. She plans to take a peek on the crash site even if it is in the forest of doom.   “Unexpectedly, winter draws very near, then that means that only a few beasts will remain active in the forest as the other will be hibernating. I can use the route that I created in exploring the forest to be safer……” *pray* -I’m very sorry mother but I can’t get it out of my mind! Must see it!-   She then changes her get up to her winter suit and steal her father’s small dagger for protection. She went outside through her room’s window but unexpectedly her brother was there and caught her red handed.   “Where are you going sis? Ah! Don’t tell me you’re going to the forest of doom again? After mother always remind you to not think of going there again”   Surprise by her brother she then avoided eye contact and talks nervously.     “….! Wh-what are you talking about? I will just go outside to take a stroll in the market *giggles* *sweating*”   “Heeh? A stroll, eh? Then why are you carrying father’s dagger? And going by the window to go to the market?”   “Well th-that’s becas-“   “Come ooon sis!? Explain yourself before I tell mother, come ooon!”   Her brother keeps teasing her until she gave out her real purpose on going outside.   “You really are an i***t sis *face palm*, you always get your stupid curiosity gets better of you!”   “Yes, I am sorry that your sister’s an i***t”. Rian is in a gloomy state because she thought that she will get scolded by both of her parents.   But little did she know, by telling her brother about the star that landed in the forest will trigger something in him.   “o-o-one thousand go-gold at least, eh? *giggle*”   “Ah! yes that’s what mister meat vendor told me”   Ren let out a silent evil laugh and his eyes sparkles.   “let’s go sis”   “Eh?”   “I said let’s go and retrieve that star so that I-*clears throat* we can get rich”   Rian ignores her brother’s last statement and focuses on the word “go”.   “Really Ren!? You’re not going to report me to mom and dad!?”   “Yes, not for now because we are going to retrieve that star!”   Rian Forgot that her brother is a money maniac who gets triggered by mentioning the word “gold”. By making their desire gets better of them, the siblings started going in to the forest of doom. But little did they know that in that moment, they will witness something that they will never forget for as long as they live. [CHAPTER END].
