Chapter 02

2146
The night before my flight tomorrow for Switzerland, I packed the things I'll bring to my travel vacation for four days. Four days is not enough for me to see all the beautiful places in Switzerland, but I don't have a choice but to follow my parent's order they gave to me.     I should plan my schedule and fill it for my paints as I see many beautiful places and fantastic views in different areas in Switzerland. I grabbed my phone and started searching the first spot I will targeting to have my first paint when I heard a sudden knock on my door.     "Come in!" As I told whoever knocks on my door while I'm tapping the google map of my phone.     I heard the opening sound of my door, but I was focusing on what I was doing when I heard someone clear her throat; that made me stop what I was doing and look up at my mother, who was sophisticated, standing in front of me.     "Mom? I thought you were in the hospital for a director's meeting?"     Yes, even at night, she still working at the hospital and barely sleeps in our own house, same for my father, who stays late at night in his office.   "I told them that I would be late for an hour. Do you know the reason why I interrupt my meeting for an hour, Aliana?" mom asks me, giving me her serious and strict gaze.   "Is it because you want to see me before I fly to Switzerland tomorrow? My flight will be at 8 am, so you won't be able to see me before I leav---"   "Just four days, Aliana, and no more extensions. Your father told me to remind you about this before you go to do your wants. After these, stop that hobby of yours and be serious this time. It would be a waste of time and money if you studied as an architect if you don't use it for the growth of our business. I didn't pursue you to be a doctor like me, so do what your father wants you to do. Act like a grown-up, Aliana." my mother sighed at me before leaving my room.   I was dazed at my mom's words for me. My heart feels a pang of pain because even they support me in traveling, they just did that to give me time to act like a grown-up woman, just like my mom told me. I put my phone in the bed, stood up to the window, and looked up into the sky.   "It does not want and hobby mom, its passion. You don't ask me what I want, and you told me to do what you and Daddy want. Act like a grown-up?" I bitterly smiled at the sky and stopped myself to tear up just because of my mom's words for me.   One thing I want to travel alone far away from my parents is for them to miss me and realize the value of family rather than the ambitions and business they possess right now. Still, I think they won't notice that their daughter needs them and need their full support in what I'm passionate about doing.   That night, my heartfelt hurt at the same time, jealous of my parent's business that they prioritize first rather than me. I ate alone again while the maids were serving me. I didn't see Mr. Clinton the whole day, and when I asked the maids about him, they just told me that he was busy doing something that my Dad told him to do.   I hope before I leave tomorrow morning, Mr. Clinton sends me off before I go to the airport. He was just the only one who cared about me and about the passion I wanted to do. He's my number one supporter whenever I paint and my number one encourager whenever I feel down because of my parents.   I slept that night with a heavy burden in my heart, I couldn't sleep peacefully, but I tried to rest to travel tomorrow without eye bags. I alarm my phone to wake up early, and when my alarm tone rings, I get up on my bed and start doing my routine. I wear a white off-shoulder dress, and I wear flat tops on my feet.   After I checked myself on my whole body size mirror and when I thought everything was okay, I took up my luggage and the sling bag where my passport and my wallet were placed on it.   The car that will take me to the airport is waiting for me outside our house, my maids help me carry my luggage, and when we put them all in the compartment of the car, I looked up in our mansion wearing my sad smile. I hope that my parents will suddenly understand what I want and agree to pursue my passion as a painter and an artist when I return.   But I know that I wish for something that will never happen.   I looked in our mansion one last time before I went inside the car. I signal our driver to start the engine because I don't want to be late for my flight.   When we were on our way to the airport, I took my phone to see if my parents sent me a goodbye message saying enjoy or keep safe, but my inbox, even my mail, was empty. I just shrugged off the thing that they don't care about me, and I don't want to have my trip be lonely.   I hid my phone in my bag and stared outside my window. I plan some ideas and what I will do in four days of my vacation in Switzerland because I have these feelings that my parents would not allow me to travel more. That's why it's a good thing I plan to visit Switzerland first because it's my last destination travel.   After one hour of traveling, I already arrived at the airport. My driver helped me to get my luggage in the car's compartment before he left me. I took my belongings, walked inside the airport, and waited for my flight to call because I still have thirty minutes before my flight. I go to the bench, sit there for a while, and suddenly I get my pencil and my sketch pad inside my luggage and start to draw a mother and baby having their time playing while waiting for their flight. When a question suddenly popped out in my mind.   "Did mom play with me like that when I was a kid?" I whispered to myself while staring at them. I was shaken my head by the thoughts that came up in my mind.   I should not think of things that will make me sad. Besides, I don't even remember if I had a happy time with my parents because they were busy even when I was a kid.   I continue drawing the mother and the baby. I overlooked the time when I heard my flight was now boarding. I immediately tear the piece of my sketch paper I draw and put back my things on my luggage before I walk in near the woman who's lovingly holding her baby.   "Hi!" I greeted her when she looked upon at me with a questioning look in her eyes.   "Yes?"   I reached out to her the sketch paper, who confusedly took it and saw what it was when her lips formed into a smile and looked up at me again.   "Thank you. This drawing is so wonderful." the woman happily said, which made me smile.   I wish my mom told me those words too, but I know it will not happen.   "Thank you. You and your baby are wonderful as well. Take care." I said before leaving them.   I hurriedly went to the entrance to enter the plane and give my tickets to the assigned staff of the airport.  After that, I walk in excitedly, and I can't express the excitement I feel now. I don't want to think that this vacation is for only four days. I'll make this trip unforgettable for the days that I will stay in Switzerland.   When I entered the plane, I searched where I should sit, and when I found it, I saw a fine good looking man sitting beside the window. I want to sit beside the window, but someone is already in the spot that I want. I put my things in the compartment, and because my items were too heavy, They almost fell to me when someone caught my luggage.   "Let me take care of this. A woman like you should not doing this like this," he said to me while taking care of my things.   The one who helped me was the man sitting in the spot I wanted to sit in, he's not just a good-looking man, but I think he's also a gentleman.   "T-thank you."   After he put my luggage in the compartment, he smiled at me and sat in the seat that I supposedly sit in.   "I know that you want to sit beside the window, so take my seat." he politely told me; that made me smile, and I immediately sat before he changed his mind.   "How did you think that I liked to sit beside the window?" I asked him   "I just felt it. I'm Davidson Walter, by the way, you can call me David if you want, and you are?" he lifts his right hand to me to have a shaking hand with me that I stare off.   I don't want to talk with strangers, but this man helps me, and I think he means no harm. So, I accept his hands and smile at him.   "Aliana Sophia Miller, just call me Aliana." I can say that it was nice to talk to David because our whole flight was not dull. We talked a lot, and I discovered that he was a businessman who ran a shipping line in Georgia and went to a convention meeting in Switzerland. David and I became good seatmates the whole flight, and I considered him now as a friend because he's interested in my story about my painting, and he thinks it was awesome.   After an hour of flight with good talks with David, we finally arrived at Zurich Airport. David and I got off the plane together.   "I think it's time for us to separate ways, Aliana. But I hope to meet you again."   "Of course, we're already friends, remember? Besides, my town is not far away from your hometown." He said that. I smiled and nodded to him.   "Okay."   We decided to exchange numbers, so we had contact with each other, and after that, we bid goodbyes because someone already came to fetch him.   I was alone again and waiting for someone from the hotel I will stay at four days to fetch me. My mom wants me to get a house from here, but I refused her offer because, like what they say, they want me to stay here for a couple of days. Besides, I want to live here normally for the four days they give to me and not be treated as necessary.   A few minutes later, one of the hotel staff finally came, and when I started to walk by, I bumped into someone who made my luggage fall and a case that forcedly opened because of the impact it got when it fell, then there's a violin on it.   I can't blame the one who bumped into me because I know I'm also at fault because I'm not looking around. I just saw the back of the man I bumped in, getting the case with violin and closed it without looking at me or even scolding me for what happened.   "I-I'm sorry, It's an acid---"   I didn't finish what I was saying when he immediately stood up and left me without apologizing too, and he did not even look at me, even a slight glimpse that made me pissed off.   "What a rude man!" I annoyingly said to myself while looking at the man I bumped in, who's walking now far from where I stand without even looking at me.   And because I was annoyed, I got my luggage and went to the hotel staff waiting for me. The staff member who fetches me gets my things and puts them inside the car's compartment while I am getting inside, and when I comfortably sit in the backseat, I get my phone from my sling bag and call my bestfriend, Chastity.   (Hey! You already alr---)   "I told you, a man with good qualities and a good attitude is so damn hard to find!"   Damn f*****g hard to find! As I said to myself
