First Kill

As soon as Bonio located Max’s position, a gust of wind runs through the floor with another wave of his hand, and all of the furniture immediately pushed aside. Just like Moses splitting the red sea, the furniture divided into two sides of the room, giving space for Bonio to walk straight through. Of course, Max's location behind the table has been exposed as the table he used as a cover has been tossed aside.

“Well, I found you.”

Looking at Bonio’s expression, if he is a friendly neighbor from next door earlier, right now, his expression is terrifying and displeased. No matter what, the feeling of humiliation he feels is enormous, to be sneak attacked by an unraked boy, and he actually fell for the trick.

Max looked at Bonio, and he knows that he is in a bad situation. Knowing that Bonio is a villain, he won’t hesitate at all to kill someone. Max’s life is in grave danger here, and he has no way to fight back.

Although Max discovered his ability a long time ago, he never really trained any special moves other than the recently practiced wind bullet. Not to mention, as Bonio performed his earlier actions to detect Max's location using wind and pushed the furniture in the room, Max can gauge that Bonio’s power is way above him.

That’s only speaking of power alone. Bonio’s proficiency in using his power is above Max in all aspects. Bonio walks towards Max, and with a flick of his finger, Max’s body is now lifted upwards. As if someone is holding and choking him by his neck, Max feels it becomes harder to breathe.

Bonio is now standing in front of the powerless Max and looked at him with disgust.

“I think I should just finish you off right here so nobody will know about the shame that I go through.”

With a snap of Bonio’s finger, a blade made from wind appeared in front of him, and Max can see it that with Bonio’s next order, his head will be decapitated as the blade is hovering around his neck.

“Go!”

With the order from Bonio, the wind’s blade headed straight for Max’s neck. At this moment, Max struggled with all of his power.

“Nooooo!”

Something out of Bonio’s expectation happened right at this moment. The wind’s blade that was about to touch Max’s neck start to disintegrate as if an invisible wall is standing there, blocking the blade’s path and grinding it to nothingness.

Bonio might not understand what is happening, but Max realized everything that happened. As soon as the wind blade is going to hurt him, the blade seemed to be divided into several colors in a split second.

What’s holding the blade together is actually something colorless that made up the spine of the blade. Max can feel that he could control it, so he pulled the blade's colorless spine, and soon after, the wind blade fell apart and disintegrated into oblivion.

The colorless spine of the blade is still under his control, so he used it to attack Bonio while Bonio is stupefied by what is happening. No one could imagine such an outcome where sudden reversal occurred.

The colorless spine flew straight like an arrow, and it pierced Bonio’s head straight in his temple and drilled a hole through the back. Bonio’s eye is opened wide as he still didn’t believe that he has lost his life in such a manner.

Even Max, who fell down because of the wind that is holding him up in the air, lost their power due to the user’s death is stupefied. He couldn’t believe that he just escaped death and killed Bonio in the end.

Meanwhile, Yuna, who is caught in the water ball prison, is feeling nervous. After all, she didn’t know what kind of fate she will have after being captured by the enemy. On the other hand, Yann gets impatient since it has been quite some time after Bonio chased after Max, but he hasn’t come back.

“What’s taking Bonio so long? Usually, he is doing things efficiently since if he wastes more time, it will mean he wastes more energy, and it is something he really hates. Is there a problem somewhere?”

After quite a while, without any signs of Bonio showing up anywhere, Yann decided to go after him.

“I guess I should go and look for him. Don’t tell me he falls asleep somewhere to recover his energy. I will kick him if he does that.”

Yuna can only follow silently behind Yann as she couldn’t control the water ball prison that is holding her. Not long after, they arrived at the social services building where traces of wind elements can be felt.

“So, Bonio chases the boy to this place. I bet he is now sleeping on the second floor since there’s a residue of his power over there.”

Yann climbed to the second floor and can see the place is in a mess. He finally spotted Bonio in a corner, and he immediately fumed.

“Bonio! How dare you fall asleep over here and make me wait? Wake up right now, or I will kick your ass.”

After waiting for some time and there’s no reaction from Bonio, Yann approaches him and going to kick him, but he stopped. There’s something abnormal with the situation here.

If Bonio is really sleeping over here, then it means that he has finished with his task. However, no matter where Yann is taking a look, there’s no trace of Max anywhere. Sensing that something is amiss, Yann immediately comes over to Bonio and checked his body.

“Bonio! Bonio!”

Yann turned his body over after nudging it for a bit, but there’s still no response from Bonio. He finally realized what is wrong as there’s a hole in the middle of Bonio’s temple and blood flowing out of it.

“No, Bonio!”

Yann is enraged, knowing that his partner is now dead. They have been working together for a long time, and he fully knows well what Bonio is capable of. To see him in this condition, lots of questions running on his mind.

“What is happening over here? Where is the boy? Is there someone that secretly entered this alternate space since it is still a prototype and there are faults? Where is Bonio’s killer right now?”

Never once it crossed Yann’s mind that the one who is responsible for this is Max.
