Air Hero

Everybody wants to be a hero. Either it was for fame, riches, or power. Not to mention kids out there who grow up looking up to their favorite hero when they are in action. Their valiant figure and fearless appearance when fighting against the villain. In a world where superpower reigns supreme, the existence of a hero becomes a beam of hope for everyone. Standing on the side of justice to fight evil. No single kids out there didn’t imagine that it was them who is now standing in front of the camera, inspiring people all around the world. The era of heroes and villains comes when a cosmic ray hits the earth and causing the human genes to evolve. Not long after, people with superpowers start to appear all around the world. Some decide to use it to help humanity, some tried to use it to benefit themselves at the cost of other’s suffering. Hence, the hero’s assembly is created. Gathering all heroes under one banner and fighting against their evil counterparts. United Heroes, they are the biggest organization fighting against Evil Mastermind, the organization where they gather all the people with superpower with the purpose of destruction and chaos. Since the world is entering a new era, the old society needs to change. They feel the need to start educating the young people so they didn’t fall into the trickery of the Evil Mastermind. Schools for young heroes are built and they started to educate the principle of justice to them. Because of that, the need to find young talents is urgent. Kids from age of 5 to 7 become their target as they are trying to shape their ideal and mentality. They will be trained until they are coming of age when they will be officially deployed to the field as official heroes. Every year, on their birthday, every child from age 5 to 7, they could walk to the United Heroes association and get their talent appraised. Although they are trying to take everyone with a superpower, there needs to be a set standard as requirements. Although there are many powerful abilities, there are no less amount of useless abilities too. Due to that, superpowers also divided into several categories, and only after passing several tests, will they be able to enter the special school. Since then, whenever their kid got accepted into the United Heroes School, they will become extremely proud and respected. It has also become every child's dream to get accepted at the school. It also the same dream that is a little boy is holding. Max Air is the name. “Mom, I’m going to be 5 years old tomorrow, right?” “Yes Max, you’re going to have your birthday tomorrow. You’re already excited for it? We already have your cake ready.” “No mom. Not that! Tomorrow I will have my superpower checked, right? Don’t you dare say that you forget to arrange an appraisal schedule with the United Heroes association!” “Hahaha. Looks like someone is very impatient to get himself appraised.” “Dad! You’re back!” Just when Max and his mother is going to have their dinner, Max’s father comes back from work. Max immediately runs towards him and gives him a hug. “Oh, look what’s we got here. My little hero. How’re you doing today?” “Dad, tell me. You didn’t forget to arrange an appraisal schedule tomorrow, right?” “Of course, I won’t forget about it. You’ve been bugging me about it since one month ago. How can I forget about it?” “Yeay! Dad is really the best!” After that, Max is being lifted into the air as he smiled happily. His father and mother looked at each other in the eyes with loving eyes. “Alright, now let’s eat our dinner. Dear, let me put your bag away, and let’s eat together.” “Okay. What’s for dinner tonight?” “Mac and cheese and stir fry green vegetables. I hate green vegetables like spinach and kale. Can I just eat the mac and cheese?” “Eh? But you have to eat your vegetables. Superheroes all eat their veggies and greens.” “Really dad?” “Yeah, just like your favorite hero. Do you remember that?” “Ah! Captain Green catchphrase, ‘It’s party thyme!’ but Dad, he didn’t mention about eating vegetables though.”  “Isn’t it obvious? Just look at his green costume and the broccoli-style hair, it is obvious that he loves eating vegetables. Sssh. Come closer, in fact, I think the secret to his superpower is that eating vegetables.” “Ah! Dad!” Max then quickly tried to cover his father’s mouth using his small hands. “You couldn’t carelessly say that. What if a bad guy is listening to our conversation right now? Captain Green will be in trouble.” “Oh, you’re right Max. I will keep my mouth shut. You also, this is a secret between us okay. No one else can know about it.” “Pinky promise!” Just when Max and his father are entwining their pinky together to make a pinky promise, his mother comes from another room. “Hey! Anyway, let’s eat our dinner now, or else it would be cold.” “Okay, Mom! By the way, do we have green vegetables today?” “You already know the menu; we have the stir fry green vegetables if you want.” “I want a double portion of it today, mom.” “Eh, Why so sudden?” “Secret.” Looking at his son's antics and her husband's wink, Max’s mother only smiled while following after Max who is already running to the dining table. That night, dinner is very warm and sumptuous. It can be said as the happiest dinner time for Max since the day after, all of his wishes will come true. His dream of becoming a hero will be started tomorrow the day he takes the appraisal from the United Heroes association.
