Going to the gym

Time flew past very fast for Max. after getting discharged, he returned to the orphanage. It seemed that Kalina or people from the United Heroes association had sent someone to explain things to Max’s school and the orphanage's head. His return didn’t have any trouble at all.

Even at the school, his friend didn’t pester him too much about it as he said that he was admitted to a hospital and got discharged. Max’s life then continues as usual until one week later, Kalina comes with a sponsorship contract.

“Big sis Kalina, are you sure that this contract is correct?”

“What’s wrong with it?”

“It said over here that as I am going through school, you will give me an allowance for my expenses like food and such. Isn’t it just wasting money?”

“Max, trust me that you will need it. You might not know it, but right now, your body is on the thin side. Not to mention that later you will have your special training. Your body will need more energy, and the best way to refill it is through food. I am not wasting money. Call it as an investment, so you better train hard and develop your body.”

What Kalina said makes sense, so Max doesn’t have any word to refute it. Kalina handed him over a bank card and a phone.

“The bank card can be used to buy food, and inside it is your first allowance. As for the phone, I will be contacting you through it. You know how to use it, right?”

“Well, I only have seen my friends using it. I will learn how to use it. it comes with a manual book, right?”

“Yes, it’s inside the box. Also, your training will officially start in three days. After that, you will have daily training every day. Do you have any questions?”

“Well, I am curious. Who will be the instructor for my training?”

“Oh, that would be me. Maybe I will call someone for some help, but mainly I will be the one training you.”

“Eh?”

Max is a bit surprised at Kalina’s answer as he never thinks that it would be her.

“Do you think that I got my position as a teacher and psychiatrist without any skill to back it up? Don’t look down on me as I got my hero license too.”

“Oh? I didn’t look down on you, big sister Kalina. It’s just, um, unexpected.”

“Oh well, you better be ready since I won’t be nice when training you.”

“Well, since I have signed the contract, I am basically your employee. Feel free to work or train me to the bone.”

“I will take your words; you just be prepared and eat some good food.”

“Thank you, big sis.”

If, at first, the way Max called Kalina as big sister seemed to be a little bit awkward, it is slowly gone away as he is used to it. With a smile, Kalina said her goodbye to Max. since there’s nothing to do, Max decided to spend the rest of the night training. After all, he still wanted to know what is happening back there.

The moment where he took something out of Bonio’s wind blade and used it to kill him instead, he still doesn’t know what is happening and ever since that day he tried to control his power again but never come the moment where he can see colors in the air.

“What is that back then? If I can’t really figure it out, I better ask big sis Kalina later. After all, she is more experienced than me, so she must have known a lot more about it.”

Having found no further improvement, Max decided to end his training session.

The next day, Max tried to follow the diet plan that Kalina gave him yesterday. Along with the bank card, Kalina actually included a strict diet plan that Max need to follow. As he was taken to the examination room, they got the details of Max’s physique that is in a bad malnourished condition. It couldn’t be said that the food of the orphanage is terrible. It’s just that Max likes to skip his meal due to his tendency to close himself in his room.

Most of the meal includes a high amount of meat, and Max couldn’t imagine the amount of money he needs to spend for every meal now exceeding the amount of money he could gather in a month previously. He now feels that every meal is a luxury.

Two days later, after school, Max is heading to an address that Kalina sends him through the phone. Within these two days, max also learned how to use the phone and fiddle with it until he is familiar enough with it. Using the GPS of the phone, he quickly finds the address.

“Is it here?”

Just when Max is wandering in front of the building, a phone call from Kalina comes in, and he picks it up.

“Max, where are you?”

“I’m in front of the building, but I’m not sure if it’s the right one.”

“What is the sign of the building?”

“It says beauty gym here.”

“It’s the right place. I’m already waiting inside the gym.”

The reason that Max hesitated before entering isn’t because the name of the gym isn’t suitable. After all, it is a gym, but the building's flowery designs are too much for him to handle. He is afraid that the moment he enters the building, he won’t be able to come out again unless he becomes a woman. That’s how much flower decoration is used on the building. However, since Kalina said that it is the right one, Max gathered his courage and entered the place.

“Hi there, how can I help you?”

Even the receptionist of the beautiful gym is already sending shivers to his spine. The cute high-pitched sound comes from a muscular man dressed as a sexy sailor almost makes Max puked on the spot. Good thing that he just ate a luxurious beef set that he swallowed right back in before it goes out of his mouth.

“I am here to see big sister Kalina.”

“Oh, you must be Max. Kalina told me before that you will be coming. She has been waiting for some time. Follow me.”

Despite the flowery and feminine design, the gym itself is well equipped and spacious. It didn’t take long for Max to spot Kalina.

“Big sis, are we going to start my training here?”

“Well, this is a perfect place if you’re just a normal person. Since we’re going to train your superpower too, we need to do it in a place with stronger walls. I bet you’ll be surprised seeing this.”

The feminine receptionist pressed something on the wall, and a secret stair shows up behind one of the training equipment, hidden from anyone. Even Max feels amazed with it. When he is young, he watched the TV and saw this scene that seemed to come straight out from the movie. He couldn't believe that he sees it right in front of him and uses the secret path.
