Yann and Bonio II

Since Yuna couldn't escape, for now, she wanted to find more information about the enemy that she is facing.

"Mister Yann, is it?"

"Oho! Look at this, why suddenly you become so polite?"

"Since I couldn't escape anymore, I think I better accept my fate."

"Oh, I like you more and more as you're a smart girl."

"Then, can you tell me more about the higher-ups that you mentioned before?"

"Hmm. Maybe I can tell you something. What do you want to know?"

"Does the people that I am chasing, Lindt and Vanya, are considered one of the higher-ups?"

"Mhm. They are one of the higher-ups but not the ones ordering for your capture. Since their whereabouts are still in secret."

"Is it because of the recent incident?"

"Oh, you seem to be so informed. Yes, that's because of their current activity that they are now hidden."

Yann nodded to Yuna's question as he answered. So far, Yuna hasn't got any vital information from Yann. Although she confirmed that Vanya and Lindt are really the people responsible for the bombing incident lately, she hasn't got any other important information.

"Then, can you tell me about the other higher-ups?"

"Well, I don't really know either since I'm mostly receiving orders without meeting with them in person."

Either if Yann is playing dumb or he is hiding information from them.

"Then, what about this thing that you used to create this alternate space?"

"Oh, this is one of the newest inventions from our tech department. Isn't it great? Unlike the United Heroes, who believe in the superpower as everything, we are trying to revolutionize the world. I wonder why the United Heroes deemed us as heretics while we're the one making the world going forward."

Yann didn't seem to be guarded about it, and Yuna wanted to know more about it as she continues to ask.

"Wow, I don't know much about it since I am new to the heroes' association. But I think this thing that you have, will revolutionize the world. Can you tell me how this alternate space device works?"

"Well, I don't really understand it myself. However, I remember something about having someone's superpower stored on a device that contained a material called geonide. But that's about it. I never get too interested in technology anyway."

Yuna deeply engraved the information on her mind since it was something that might be used by the Evil Masterminds to go against the United Heroes at some point, and it was a valuable battle intelligence.

While Yuna and Yann are still conversing, there's a disturbance that can be sensed in the distance, along with a breeze and rustling wind.

"Oh, it seemed that Bonio decided to use his power to ends it quickly. That's rare for him as he is a lazy person and more so when it involves using his power. The boy that you're with most probably dead by now."

On the other hand, Yuna decided not to care much about Max anymore since she knows that he has prepared for this outcome the moment he fled to bait Bonio away. What she is thinking right now is how to save herself. Yuna's brain is running very hard right now about what to do to survive.

Meanwhile, what happened inside the social services building is entirely different from what Yuna and Yann are thinking. While they are thinking that the commotion is caused by Bonio that is chasing after Max, in truth, it was caused by Max launching a sneak attack on Bonio.

As Yuna and Yann started their conversation, it is the time when Bonio just entered the building after following Max.

Max quickly headed towards the second floor as he suddenly has a great spark of inspiration. Rather than hiding somewhere and waiting for Bonio to lower his guard, he will find a place that will naturally make Bonio lowers his guard.

The answer to that is on the staircase. Most of the time, when Max is feeling down on his life, he always walked facing the floor instead of the front. The only moment he isn't doing that is when he is on the stairs as he is afraid that he will fall face first when climbing up. On the way down, it is the correct choice as you need to watch for your steps, but at that moment, Max realizes that he isn't even looking around to notice the people.

Right now, with his simple thinking, he comes up with a strategy. He decided to launch his sneak attack on the stair. Either it was when Bonio is moving up the stairs or when he is walking down. Max suddenly have a spark of inspiration.

"How about I mix both of them?"

This crazy idea dashes on Max's mind, and he didn't doubt it as this is the best he could think of.

Max walked towards the second floor as fast as he could, and he is taking the stairs on purpose, although there might be a lift or elevator somewhere on the building. He is finding a flower pot that is small enough that he will support his strategy and waited near the staircase.

Bonio didn't fall behind too far from Max as he saw him walking up the stairs.

"Great. After chasing after you, you want me to get up the stairs as exercise and waste my energy. You know, I really hate stairs. Why did they install a stair on the building even though there's a lift?"

The real answer is because of safety regulations, as the stairs can be used in an emergency situation while the lift can't. However, the two people inside the building could care less about finding the answer as it wasn't even important at this exact moment.

Bonio stepped on the stairs, which is the sign that Max's plan is coming to fruition as the first phase is completed.
