Emma POV   “Hey Emma, what are you doing all the way out here?” Oliver asks me. “Just had to get out of the house,” I mutter as I throw my bag in the backseat and sit up front with Oliver. As I look at him I start to calm down, he’s always been able to help me calm down just by looking into his dark brown eyes. It’s like I can just lose myself in the depth of his eyes. He is the calmest person I have ever known, and that is extremely rare in a male wolf. His slightly tanned skin makes me look even paler than I am when he takes my left hand into his right one. “I’ve got you now,” he grins as we turn around and head toward school. I just close my eyes and relax as he drives. We sit in comfortable silence the entire ride. “Ollie, thank you for coming and getting me today. How does it feel to have your birthday party so close?” I ask. “I’m happy, but I mean I’ve already found you so I don’t see why I should be overly excited,” he said looking me in the eye. He’s hiding something, my wolf says. Are you sure, Astrid? Definitely, I can feel the anxiety coming off of his wolf, Emma. He seems like his birthday is making him nervous. “You ok over there, Emma?” Oliver questions. “Yeah, sorry. Astrid was talking to me,” I tell him, explaining that my wolf had distracted me. Coming back to reality I see that we have arrived at school, it looks more like a castle, but that it to be expected. We go to an all werewolf school, which is one reason I don’t dress to impress. There are way too many hormonal wolves here and I don’t want to deal with any of them when it comes to how my body looks. I intentionally hide my figure so I can avoid any attention, it is already hard to do because of my family. My family attracts attention like crazy because my uncle is the Alpha of our pack. “Are you ready for today, Emma?” Oliver asks as we walk to our lockers.  “What about today?” I question, we had nothing special going on that I knew of. “Emma,” he grabs my arm, turning me towards him. “The party tonight isn’t the only big thing happening today. The neighboring packs and their alphas are coming today. You know you’re going to be expected to be there when they arrive, how could you forget?” Before I had a chance to respond our algebra teacher came up to us. “I am sorry to interrupt, but Emma the principal would like to see you in his office,” she said. “I’ll talk to you in class,” I say as I walk away and head towards the principal's office.  What did we do to make him call us to the office this time, Astrid? Nothing that I can think of, I guess we will have to wait and see. As I reach the door, I try to use my sensitive hearing to see if I can hear any voices beyond the door, but to my dismay I can’t hear anything. But I caught a scent that I knew all too well. Opening the door, I come face to face with my uncle. “Uncle Adam?” I question and I get an evil eyed look from my principal. Unlike my principal, my uncle is happy with my greeting. “Come here kiddo,” he says. Who am I to disobey so I run to him as he throws his arms open and we hug each other in a welcoming embrace. “You’re getting too big kiddo,” he says into my hair. As we let go, he takes in my appearance and chuckles. “Your mom said you left the house a mess. She was worried that you would make a spectacle of our family meeting the other packs looking like that,” he mused. “Well, if she hadn’t gone off on a tangent this morning on how I don’t act like my sisters instead of just reminding me that the other packs were coming I would’ve just changed my clothes instead of just leaving,” I reply. I can see my principal behind my uncle getting irritated that I am talking to my uncle in such an informal way. “Well, I’ve a solution for your clothing, you’re coming with me,” my uncle said taking my hand in his leading me out the door. “Alpha,” I hear my principal start behind us, “Emma still has classes to attend.” “Henry, do you really think that if her teachers know that their Alpha has excused her for the day that they will mind?” my uncle raises his eyebrow in question. “Uh, no sir,” my principal stutters. We turn and continue on our way and I am so thankful that class has already begun, so that nobody sees me leave with the Alpha of our pack.
