Emma POV   As we get into my uncle’s car I can’t help but as, “Where are we going, Uncle Adam?” “We are going to the mall, we have to find you an outfit that will not only be approved by your mother but one that you will be comfortable in. I see you still aren’t really comfortable in the kinds of clothes that most other female wolves your age are wearing,” he states. I glare at him for a moment before responding, “It’s not that I am uncomfortable in those clothes. To be honest, I have no problem wearing them, it’s more that my body shows how much I work out and that I am training more than dad wants me to. So I wear clothes that hides the fact that my body is in such good shape. If my dad wasn’t so protective and he didn’t strictly tell us that we shouldn’t train as much as the guys I would wear those kinds of clothes. But, you know dad he would lose his mind at learning that I train with you all the time.” I look down at my hands during the rest of our short drive to the mall.  “Emma, I was thinking about telling your father that I am training you to take the place of the next Beta. You know that my beta doesn’t have any children and that his mate passed away last year. Charlie is going to need someone strong and smart to help guide him with the tougher decisions. I will be here, but he is going to need to learn how to rely on his own beta and gamma,” uncle Adam says surprising me. “I didn’t see that one coming, Em,” “Neither did I, do you think we would be good enough?” I ask. “I can’t say about you, but I know that I would be,” she remarks “Seriously, Astrid?” I squeal at her. “You had that coming, you and I both know we would be a good choice. You are just too dang hard on yourself. We are both strong, stronger that anyone knows, and yet you are worried that we won’t be good enough,” Astrid encourages me. “Did you disappear on me?” my uncle asks. I look around me and realize that while I was talking to Astrid that we had arrived at the mall and that he was already out of the car waiting for me. “Sorry,” I mumble. “I was just talking to Astrid, we were a little blindsided by what you said. I never thought you would think I was good enough to become a beta, I mean normally alphas choose men or boys that they have grown up with to become their beta,” I say as I get out of the car and we walk to the entrance to the mall.  “Well, you have grown up with Charlie, I’ve trained with you both and I’ve even sworn him to secrecy about training you. He’s been your only other sparring partner besides myself. He was the one who suggested it. Emma, Charlie trusts you with his life, not because your his cousin, but because you want to be the best wolf, you can be and you train and work so hard to achieve your goal. So enough of the pack business talk, let’s get you an outfit to wow the pack and welcome their Beta in training,” my uncle says pushing me into a store. After trying on so many outfits, we finally decided on a simple off the shoulder burgundy cocktail dress that fit my body without showing off my physique completely. We paired that with some black flats and a small wolf pendent necklace that my uncle picked out. “Let’s get back to the pack house, you can get ready there today. I want you beside Charlie today when everyone arrives,” my uncle says leading us back to the car. “We are going to kill this Emma,” Astrid comments. “I can’t wait, the pack won’t know what to say when he announces this!”
