since I was little I always knew that I loved two things outside of my family  1) Music and 2) Harlow sue and both were more than obvious to everyone around. So my mom's reaction when I told her that I wanted to start performing at an open mic night at a local bar, and I was also in love with my oldest friend Harlow. It shouldn't have shocked me as much as it did. Her dark brown eyes simply skimmed slightly over the top of her book to stare me right in my 14 year old face, to respond to my proud announcement with a light. "Honey, don't forget to tune and I've known for sometime now." I stumbled back slightly in response to her cool demeanor as if these things were already known between us. So with that I retreated back to my room to practice for my first performance. Harlow came over around lunchtime to be my pretend audience; her dark brown hair was pulled up in a tight bun. With her banks sweeping over her hazel eyes, her normally pale skin was tanned thanks to the Alabama heat of the summer. Her outfit which consisted of a white muscle tee that I remember watching her cut up to expose more of the sides. So she could wear her favorite black lace bra and everyone would see it. paired with denim shorts that left very few things to the imagination. But that was because she never really understood the meaning of modesty, or quiet, or personal space, but I suppose that's why everyone loved her. Because not loving Harlow sue was like denying yourself the simplest of pleasures in this world such as breathing or smiling. After lunch meal and sue retired to my bedroom where I belted out my first cover soon to be performed in front of a half drunk crowd.  "I don't like walking around this old and empty house So hold my hand, I'll walk with you, my dear The stairs creak as I sleep it's keeping me awake It's the house telling you to close your eyes " Once I finished the song Sue's light voice floated through my room. "Rachel that was perfect I can't wait to see you perform it on stage." She slipped off my bed to come over to my body. Hunched over my guitar on a stool across from the bed once she stood directly in front of me, she started to lean down. Letting me get a whiff of her signature vanilla scent which temporarily distracted me from her path to my face. At first I thought she was going to leave a peck on my check, something we both have grown use to each other doing. But instead she curved her path at the last minute to land her lips on mine.  Her lips in three words Warm, Soft, Perfect. So with that kiss my fate was sealed I was now forever and always going to be tied to Harlow sue, because during that four second kiss I reformed what I already knew. That I Rachel Paige would do anything for a one Harlow sue because  to not love her was to deny myself the simplest of pleasures.
