The sword is the only language many of them understood. It was in their system. The recent in-pour of monsters and magical creatures of every kind from where they could only imagine had turned their world into a kill zone for those who could not defend themselves. Raven escaped execution but lost his father and his twin sister to the sharp arrows of the king's archers in the process. Vengeance became his one and only thought as he ventured into the outlands. The search for the breath of kings would see his transmigration into a more magical and dangerous world. But how was he to know that the king was also in search of the breath of kings.

There is an old magic with the ability to transport someone from the Elvan world (A place where only elves existed) to the realm of human beings. The magic has catastrophic effects on those who use them which was why children who were suspected of having or possessing the old magic were warned repetedly not to utter the words or even try to learn them. But how was Ruby to know that the words would send her to the human realm. She was never told that something like the 'human realm' existed and so when she uttered the words while in grave danger, she found herself in a strange place filled with people that did not look like her or understood her language although the difference was almost insignificant and unoticeable. She would come to know that they were human beings and she was in their world. She sort of twisted her memory as the magic took its hold on her and sent her to the human realm. Now she cannot remember that someone was trying to kill her, that her best friend was probably dead or better still, that she left her best friend for dead and now here she was, having found a creepy old man who was an elf like her in the human realm but who was refusing to admit it. The events that followed after she met him would see her regain all her memories and find her way back home just in the nick of time to save her parents' life.

So frostbane technologies turned the world into a mess. Imagine waking up one morning to see that everything around you has been turned into a rubble, houses, factories and to make it worse monsters and zombies are seen everywhere. that would be quite a day you might say.
