CHAPTER 25: TRAINING WITH EURUS

1067 Words
"Your daughter?" Zane's forehead wrinkled. Aera was the only girl he had been with today. "Aera is your daughter?!" Eurus nodded while still seriously glaring at Zane. "Hold on a second. Aera is an immortal?" "She is." "Oh, that's why she asked me that weird question earlier." He slowly nodded. He looked back at Eurus again. "Are you mad because she is my friend?" "Since when did you become friends?" "When I was ten. She was kind enough to offer me a sandwich that time after the bullies in my class took my lunch box and money. The next day, she dropped out. I did not know she was your daughter. If I only knew, I would have asked you about her." "I believe you. You don't know how to lie." He placed his hands on his waist. "Young man, do you like my daughter?" "W-wait, what?" He got nervous when he heard the question. "T-that's too early for that. We're friends now, that's all I know." "Everything starts with friendship. My question is, do you like my daughter?" Zane could not talk. He likes her. He nodded. "I won't interfere with my daughter's business. I just want to make it clear. Don't hurt my daughter. I will forget our friendship if you will make my daughter cry. Understood?" "I promise I won't hurt her, ever." He raised his right arm. "It's better we're clear. Now, come with me. I am going to train you using Plori Anemoi." He used his power to make Zane float in the air. "H-hold on a second, I haven't eaten anything today!" He could not do anything. They flew to somewhere he had no idea where. He closed his eyes while floating in the air. "Just relax, I won't drop you just because you are around my daughter." Eurus laughed while teasing Zane. "I already promised I won't hurt your daughter!" he said loudly while his eyes were still closed. Eurus continued laughing to tease Zane. They flew faster and made him feel dizzy. They both landed on a rocky mountain, facing tall waterfalls. "We are going to practice here," Eurus said. Zane opened his eyes and looked around. "This is a good place to practice." "Zane, can you be honest with me," Eurus' voice became serious. "Do you have powers? I mean, your powers. I can sense it from you." Zane could not reply immediately; he thought of the best way to say what he had. "I noticed when I was young that I have power. I can shake the ground and I can release sound waves. I faced those monsters when I was still a kid. We had an accident, and I saved my family using my powers." "Show me then." Zane had hesitated, but it was Eurus who was asking to see it. He stomped his feet on the ground, which shook everything around. He shouted and he released a sound wave that made a few trees fall. "My vision is perfect and I can hear things even from far away." "I knew it. Are you sure your parents are your real parents?" Eurus asked. "There is a possibility that one of your parents is immortal." Zane shook his head. "My parents are both humans, I guess." "You need to ask them when you have time. Anyway, bring out Plori Anemoi. We will practice the different techniques using that weapon." "Plori Anemoi." The bow appeared on his hand. He waited for Eurus' instructions. "One of the qualities of Plori Anemoi is its capability to merge with the wielder's power. See the huge tree over there?" He pointed at the huge old tree about thirty kilometres away from them. "Raise your bow and aim on it. Don't pull the string yet." Zane did what he was told. He raised the bow and held the string but he did not pull it yet. "Now, concentrate at the centre of your body and feel the energy that you used earlier, that sound wave you did." He felt that strong, hot energy just right above his belly button. "Now, have that energy flow from your centre towards your hand, then pull the string." He pulled the string, and an arrow appeared, totally different from the clear white arrow before. This time it is electric blue and it is heavy. "Release it, now!" He released the arrow. It was faster than the usual speed, and it had a sound similar to the sound wave he usually released through his mouth. It went straight to the tree and it exploded. "Whoa!" "Did you see the difference? Using the power of Plori Anemoi alone is good, but using your power through it is extraordinary." "Thank you, Eurus!" He was so happy to learn more about his weapon. "Can I use it too, with the ground-shaking power I have?" "Yes you can," he said. "But it seems that one is much stronger and more dangerous than your sound wave. We can try that next time somewhere else, not here. Practice the one you just discovered in the meantime." "Got it." He aimed the bow again and released the string to another tree nearby. "You can help and protect people who are in need and danger from kakodaimons and other evil creatures." He crossed his arms. "I was never wrong the first time I saw you. There was something unique about you that I could not explain." "I don't know either. I need to ask my parents." He sighed. "I hope I also have the healing power to cure my sister so she can walk again. That would be awesome." "I can heal wounds, but not severe injuries and illnesses. Healers are special, and each one has a unique ability to treat injuries. I'll ask a friend to heal your sister." "You will?!" He could not believe it. He was blessed to have Eurus as his friend. "Thank you, Eurus. It means so much to me. I feel responsible for what happened to Anne." "Stop blaming yourself for something that you did not intentionally do. You never wished your sister to be like that, right? We will find a cure for her illness." He nodded. Aside from his father, he looked up to Eurus, who has been good to him since then. He is grateful to him, and he promised to himself he will always follow him.
