Zane couldn't sleep. He keeps on turning in his bed. He stared at his hands and recalled what happened in the zoo. He closed and opened both of his hands. "Was that real? Did I command them?" He recalled what happened in the zoo.
The dolphin went closer to his face and winked at him. "Did you wink at me? Did you?" The dolphin made his whole body move like a nod and then he winked again. Zane's jaw dropped. He could understand the dolphin's movements!
A few swordfish formed a line in front of him and did rotation movements. He thought of his secret ability. He raised his right arm a bit and moved all his fingers upward, commanding them to swim up.
The swordfish did what he instructed, then they went back again near him. He then moved his finger forming a circle, and the group of swordfish did what he wanted them to do.
"What exactly was it? How did I manage to control them?" He sat up and looked out of the window. Eurus came into his mind. "I should ask him if he knows something about my abilities. He probably has an explanation about it. But where should I find him?"
He sighed deeply. "It was just a coincidence seeing him." he laid down and tried to get to sleep. "I need some peace of mind."
***
Zane smelled the aroma of the food in the kitchen. It woke him up and he felt his stomach growling. He checked his phone to see messages, only to read Winsor's text to him.
"I will make your day miserable later."
He just shook his head. He will do his best to hide from those bullies again. He went out of his room and ran down the stairs. He went straight to the kitchen to see what his mother was cooking.
"Good morning, son," Bren greeted Zane. He could not believe it was his father who did the cooking.
"I can smell it from my room." His father just finished cooking chicken adobo.
"You should eat a heavy meal today for you to have better energy."
"Why did you do the cooking today? Where's Mom?" he asked. "Where's Anne and Wane?"
"Your mother and Anne went to the doctor. They left early to avoid heavy traffic and long queues. It's Anne's check-up today. Wane is still sleeping." Bren turned off the stove and transferred the food to the bowl. "Here, eat well. I will pick you up later after school. We will go to the archery club."
"Okay, Dad." He sat on the chair and started scooping rice from the serving platter to his plate. "This is superb!"
"I know, I'm a good cook!" His Dad laughed. "I will also send you to school. Don't ride the school bus." He took the packed lunch from the counter and placed it near Zane. "Here's your lunch."
"Thanks, Dad." Zane felt relieved. He does not need to slouch and hide at the back of the school bus this time to avoid Winsor and his friends.
"I have a gift for you. I will give it to you later." His father gave a wide smile.
"What is it, Dad?" he asked curiously.
"Later, after picking you up from school. Now finish your meal and prepare for school." His father stood up and took a mug from the dispenser. He prepared a hot chocolate for Zane. He put it in front of him. "Here, kid."
"I'm not a kid anymore, Dad," he complained.
Bren just shook his head and proceeded to the sink to wash the utensils he used for cooking. Zane feels lucky to have a father like him. "You are the best father in the world, Dad," he said without hesitation.
Bren looked back at him. "Thank you, Mini Me."
Zane finished his meal quickly and hurried to his room to take a bath and fix himself. He put on his backpack and ran to the garage.
"I'm ready, Dad."
Bren is already in the driver's seat, waiting for Zane to hop in. "Let's go."
Leito's Chamber
"My Lord," Desiree called Leito's attention while entering his
chamber. "There is a report from one of our people blending in with humans and working in the zoo. He said the aquatic animals there acted strangely yesterday."
"How strange?" Leito seems bored while listening to her. He yawned, then he turned his back and tried to get back to sleep. "I am not in the mood now, and I want to rest, so hurry and leave."
"The aquatic animals danced, all of them. They did some rotation and formation while entertaining the students on tour." She waited for Leito's reaction.
He got up and sat on the bed. "From which school? Have you investigated why they acted like that? Is there a demigod or an immortal around the zoo?"
She shook her head. "There was no sign of the immortal, My Lord, but we have the information that one school reserved the zoo that day, it is called the Pious Montessori."
"It is possible that the child we are looking for is there." Leito gave an evil smile. "Or a son of a powerful Olympian is there. We can use that child to blackmail the gods."
"That is right, My Lord. We can also turn that child's trust to us and use it for our interest." Her words are so powerful that it is easy for Leito to take her advice seriously.
"You have a brilliant idea," he said, praising her. Desiree felt proud of herself. She loves getting compliments, especially from Leito.
"Thank you, My Lord."
"I am going to prepare now. Don't let anyone disturb me. I will pay a visit to Hermes later." Leito waved his hand. "Send some of our men to investigate that school. Now."
"Yes, My Lord." Desiree bowed before going out of the lord's chamber. He loves Leito, and she desires him, but she is still afraid of the immortal's temperament.
"Everything is falling into the right place. The prophecy will come true, and Atlantis will rise again." He made an evil laugh that echoed throughout the entire chamber.
