08. An Eventful Night

1139 Words
AS SOON AS THE AFTERNOON arrived, my personal stylist entered my place with several makeup bags and some more things. She went straight to work and prepared everything for me before I started preparing for the night in peace, letting her just do the work on my behalf. After all, she knew what I like now and what she needs to do. The moment Don told me about the party they will be hosting and that party will definitely change my life, I didn’t waste any time but to prepare for such an exciting night. There are so many possible things that could happen in just one night so preparing for it is just appropriate, especially when those things that could happen might affect me positively. I immediately contacted my personal stylist who always does me whenever my parents host a party or whenever I am invited. The least I could do is prepare well for a night where everything can change, right? “Do you want to wear this one? This just arrived yesterday. I thought you might wanna have to take a look if it fits you, though I do know that it does.” My stylist says, showing me a floor length dress. It is a sparkling red sleeveless halter neck gown. It is simple with only its beads as the design but enough to make me noticeable in the crown with its string of beads design on my shoulder that serves as the highlight of the dress, that should be enough to make myself stand out even more. It does fit me better than I thought it would, so I ended up choosing that dress even if it is too eye-catching with its color choice. My stylist did my makeup a little heavy this time with a nude eye shadow, red lips, and a bit of contour. She also styled my hair with a few curls at the edge with half of it styled up with some strands of hair on the side of my side to make it more elegantly looking. The dress is also paired up with a black stilettos heels and a purse with a pair of dangling earrings and some more branded accessories that I owned to complete the look. I’m good to go now I guess? As I did the last touches of my whole look, the doorbell echoed to my entire unit, interrupting my peace. He is here now which can only make me sigh. This will be the first time in a while since we will meet each other again even if we were supposed to meet most of the time. Maybe times are just not with us that our jobs keep getting in the way. If I were to even point it out, it is his job that hinders us from having a talk. “Ma’am, Mr. Marquez is waiting for you outside now.” My housekeeper says after knocking into my door. I only gave her a small smile before nodding and continuing my last preparation. After all, this night wouldn’t be just all about what could happen that could change my life. There are a lot of people, specifically businessmen, from different countries since DTC Group is a global company and it is a good opportunity to make business. Even though that part is my father’s part to do, he still wanted me to prepare with all my might because I might entertain some of the foreign businessmen if he wants to double work. When I got out of the room and walked to the living area, I immediately saw a man dressed in a black suit that hugs his body so well with an adorable bow tie on his collar. As he looked in my direction when I approached him, all I could do was show him a smile to make up for all the stressful days we had previously since the marriage was announced by Dad weeks ago. “Here I thought you would have to cancel for this party at the last minute.” I said, standing in front of him with a sweet smile. He stands up and faces me before giving me a small peck on the cheek. “I guess you had yourself an excuse for the night?” “Not entirely. I still need to come back to the hospital after this if I am needed to. I just told the nurse to at least give me an hour and a half to accompany a beautiful woman for the night.” He softly says like it is some angel whispering to my ear. No wonder his patients like him so much when he speaks this softly and is even this good looking. If I am not mistaken, I have known Darryl for more than two decades now. We have shared enough unforgettable days during our childhood and even up to when we started studying already. The two of us got along so well that he became my backbone and my protector back in high school, but there is a consequence to it though because the girls in the school usually target me with hate since Darryl is pretty famous, which is him being famous to his patients is not really new anymore. Darryl is currently working as a Resident Doctor at Oak Valley Medical Hospital, the hospital his family owned for generations. He has natural silky brown hair, tanned skin, and a tall height that I only stand to his neck when I am next to him without the heels. He has a lean body and a broad shoulder despite his busy life. From what I remember, he used to be more muscular back then when he still had enough time to go to the gym, but he still managed to maintain such a great body despite that. He has soft full lips, dreamy dark brown eyes, and a tall pointed nose which is enough to make him an apple in the eye for his patients, co-doctors, and even the nurses in their hospital. To make it short, I don’t have any complaints physically if we ever actually marry. But emotionally… I think that is when things won’t align anymore. “Shall we go now, gorgeous?” He exclaimed, extending his folded arm to my side like a natural gentleman that made me smile. However, before I could even reach for it so we can leave already. My phone suddenly vibrated, making me give him an apologetic smile only. When I check my phone, I can only sigh and shake my head slightly in stress. From: Donovan Casis I can’t wait to see you in a bit, Kaye. I hope you are ready for this night. Looks like this is going to be such an eventful night ahead.
