Chapter 11: All the Cowboys are Taken
I learn over Caesar salads and white wine that Corey and Ian were once lovers. At first I feel a little uncomfortable as an intruder of their once-fling, but Ian lightens up and asks something funny: “Corey can f**k the devil, can’t he?”
I am speechless, incapable of finding words.
Corey sits at Ian’s right, jabs him in the shoulder, and says, “Stop the bullshit.”
Ian retorts, “What? I’m only being honest. You don’t want to keep any lies from Gage, right?” A long-winded but entertaining speech by Ian follows regarding his “f**k-time” with Corey and how Ian was a horrible boyfriend but an excellent business partner. “I was a total screw up and would have dumped me too.”
“But you’re good with money,” Corey says.
