On the way back to my brother’s house, I debate the pros and cons of telling Lori how much I dreaded meeting her. I mean, it all worked out in the end, right? So what would be the harm in admitting I had hoped to blow off the cookout altogether? But what if she takes offense at that somehow? What if we’re still too new at this, still getting used to each other, and what I find a bit humorous she finds off-putting? Maybe I shouldn’t say anything at all. Or I can save it for later.
