Chapter 31 Changes

[..] “Do me a favor and leave me alone.” Stella then stepped past Nathan and hurried out of there, as Armaros stepped threatening close to Nathan. “I will suggest you keep your distance. I am not here to cause trouble, but if you overstep one more time, you will regret it – Consider this your last warning.” Armaros growled before he bumped his shoulder into Nathan and walked after Stella. It made Nathan’s blood boil, but he didn’t say anything. “He just walked all over you, and you’re just letting him get away with it.” Dilan spoke, as Wilder agreed. “That was just pathetic to look at,” Wilder stated, as both of them grinned, as they shook their heads in disbelief. “Please just shut up, will you? When did you ever stand up to someone like that?” He shot at them, as they became silent. “He isn’t good for her, he has clearly got to her somehow. The Stella I knew wouldn’t act like that, he must have.. Tricked her or something. I know he can’t possibly be that great of a person, she didn’t even like him to begin with.” “What exactly do you plan to do about it? He even had the council agree to let them stay,” Dilan asked. “We just need to prove he isn’t the person he somehow has led everyone to believe he is.. Then they will have no other choice than to kick them out.” Nathan explained. “If this is because you are jealous of him, then..” Wilder started, but he stopped, as Nathan shoved him. “I’m not jealous!” He snapped, as he glared at him. “I’m just looking out for her, that’s all.. I definitely wouldn’t be jealous of someone like him.” He grumbled. “Why not? I would.. He is tall, dark tanned skin, muscular, handsome, and he stole the girl you have had a crush on, forever.” Dilan spoke. “Whatever, you know nothing. Stella and I have been friends since we were ten. I’m just looking out for her best interests.” “Well, she clearly doesn’t want you to, so just forget it, Nathan.” Wilder argued, but Dilan pushed him aside. “Don’t listen to him, count me in!” Dilan exclaimed, as Wilder pushed back. “Don’t encourage him, you i***t! Please think this through, Nathan. If this goes wrong, you could end up in big trouble.” [Stella’s POV] We both took a bath afterward because, despite being a werewolf, it is a nice thing and all, it also has both ups and downs and being able to smell what someone has been up to was clearly one of the downsides. I let Armaros go first, and when he was done, I got myself cleaned up too, before heading out of the bathroom. Armaros was in the process of buttoning his pants, when I stepped back into the room. He was still standing with his upper body bare, and I believed he heard me open the door because he turned around to meet my gaze, just as I stepped out, only wearing a towel. His eyes immediately turned a shade darker, as he looked me up and down. He bit down on his bottom lip as a mischievous smile grew wide on his lips. But when he took a step towards me, I reacted by taking a step back. “Armaros don’t.” I warned him, but it only seemed to amuse him even more. “What? I haven’t done anything.. Yet.” He grinned, as he took another step. I knew what he was up to, so I turned around to run back into the bathroom, but before I was able to get that far, he grabbed hold of me and carried me all the way to my bed. Despite my protest, he threw me down on the bed, as he was on top of me. “Please stop it, my parents could be back any minute now, we have to get dressed.” I argued, as he started kissing my neck. “Hmm, I know, but I wanna stay in bed with you.” He smirked against my skin, making me sigh. “I know, but we can’t..” I spoke, as I felt his hand move up my thigh, making me forget all about my worries, until the door suddenly opened, making both of us quickly raise from the bed. But fortunately, it was not my parents but my little brother, Theo. “Stella!.. Oh, who is that?” Theo called out to me, but as his eyes landed on Armaros, he just stared at him. I felt my cheeks heat up a bit. Even though I was relieved it wasn’t my parents, I still felt a bit flustered, but I quickly tried to collect myself. “Theo, uhm.. This is Armaros, he is my.. Friend. Armaros, meet my brother, Theo.” I revealed, making my brother light up. “Hey, you are one of the demons, aren’t you?” Theo asked, as Armaros looked at my brother, clearly not sure what to say. “Yes, that’s correct..” he answered cautiously, as he seemed a little stiff, as my excited brother came even closer to him. “How about you showing Armaros around the house while I finish up here, Theo,” I spoke, as I quickly handed Armaros his shirt and gave him a look, telling him to get out of the room, so I could get dressed. “Yay! Come with me, you have to see my room first, I promise it is way cooler than my sister’s!” Theo blurred out, as he grabbed on to Armaros’ hand and dragged him along. “Uhm, sure?” Armaros answered, but glanced at me with knitted eyebrows, as I couldn’t help but hold back a laugh. He was clearly out of his comfort zone, and it was both hilarious and kinda cute to watch, but I decided not to let him suffer too long. My brother was sweet, but he could be a handful sometimes, so I quickly got some clothes on, and when I finally was done, I walked to Theo’s room. But as I reached the room, I found them sitting on the floor, as my brother was showing Armaros his complete collection of monster figures, so I decided to watch them from a distance for a moment. “I hope, that one day when I get my wolf, that I will become as strong as my dad!” Theo exclaimed as he handed Armaros one of his werewolf figures, and proceeded to flex his arms. “I’m sure you will,” Armaros replied in a gentle voice. I loved to see how caring he could be, as my brother grabbed another one of his figures from the toy box. “You know, you don’t look like my demon figure,” Theo stated as he looked at Armaros and then at the figure, before handing it to him. Armaros was staring at the figure’s sharp teeth, pointy ears and bald head, as it had this grey-colored skin with red eyes, it was clear it was supposed to be a demon figure, even if it couldn’t be further from how they really looked. “You’re right.. Maybe if I shave my head, it will look more realistic.” Armaros teased, as Theo started giggling. “I don’t understand why others don’t like you.. You’re fun!” My brother spoke, as he sat back down. “You know.. Sometimes people tend to do stupid things when they don’t know better.. And I have been doing some pretty stupid things, and that’s why people don’t like me that much.” Armaros explained, as he put the figures back in the toy box. “But you regret it, don’t you? My mom always says that you should always apologize when you make mistakes, and try to forgive those who really regret their wrongdoings.. And you can’t be all bad if my sister likes you,” Theo cheered. “Well, I try to be better, and I like your sister very much too,” he revealed, which made my heart jump, as I then decided to walk into the room. “So, what have you two been up to?” I asked, trying to make it seem like I had just arrived. “Nothing.. Just boy stuff.” Theo stated with a small grin, as Armaros chuckled, as he raised from the floor and pulled me close to him. “Right.. Boy stuff.” He agreed as he left a kiss on the top of my head. [..] “I need to go to the bathroom. I’ll be back as soon as possible. Don’t start without me!” Theo yelled as he rushed out of the room. “We won't, I promise.” Stella replied, as she started grinning at Armaros, as soon as Theo was gone. All three of them had been playing monopoly for a while, and things didn’t look very good for Armaros. “You know, I can’t believe you’re so bad at this,” Stella chuckled, as he turned his attention to her. “Hey, don’t make fun of me, I’ve never played this before,” Armaros argued, as he took the game box and tossed it over the floor. “Still, look at how I got all these properties, and you have lost all your money, you soon have to sell out.” Stella stated triumphantly, as she waved her game money. “Or.. I could just take yours.” Armaros grinned, as he took them from her hand. “Hey! No fair, that’s against the rules!” Stella cried out, as she tried taking them back, but he just held his arm out of her reach, as he smiled at her. “You should know, by now, that I never play by the rules, babygirl.” As he gave her a small wink, and grabbed her chin before pulling her in for a kiss. “I see you kids are having fun!” Chase stated with a raised eyebrow and his arms crossed. They had been so caught up in the game and the moment, that they had been completely oblivious to Chase and Cathrine’s arrival. When Chase and Cathrine had first stepped into the house, they heard laughter from the living room, and both were surprised to see Stella, Theo and Armaros, playing, so they chose not to interfere, at least until things got a little out of hand, according to Chase. “Oh, hey dad, hey mom, you're home.. We didn’t hear you come in.” Stella spoke, as she pulled herself together. “We are.. And how could you? You did seem a little.. Preoccupied.” Chase stated, as Stella gave a light cough, as she bumped her arm against Chase’s, but his eyes were so focused on Armaros, that he didn’t react to it. “We were almost done anyway, we can play again another time.. I should probably head back and check up on the others, you know..” Armaros spoke. “Sounds like a good idea.” Chase stated, as Cathrine sighed and rolled her eyes. “I see you later, okay?” Armaros stated as he rose from the floor, as Stella nodded. “Yeah, I will see you later.” She replied, as he headed towards the door. “Hey, where are you going? We haven’t finished our game! ” Theo suddenly yelled as he ran over and grabbed hold of Armaros’ leg. “It’s okay, we can play again another time, I just.. There are some things I need to get back to.” Armaros replied, as he squatted down. “But I’ll see you later,” he stated, as he put his fist forwards. Theo looked a little disappointed at first, but then he gave a nod and put his own against Armaros’. “Okay, see ya!” Theo spoke before Armaros, then got back up, and opened the door. “Mr. And Mrs. Lupus.” Armaros spoke as he gave a small greeting nod with his head, before he left the house. “You two should get ready, we are having dinner with your aunt Clarissa, uncle Ace, and your cousin Bella.” Chase spoke, as both Stella and Theo left the room. “Did you really have to do that?” Cathrine stated as soon as Stella and Theo were gone. “I might have accepted him being with our daughter, Cathy, but this is still my home, and he needs to respect that.” Chase shrugged. “I get that, but they’re young and in love, don’t be too hard on him, okay?” Cathrine added. [..] *Knock-knock* “Come in!” Damon called out, as he was standing by the bedside next to Damien. He was still out cold, but he had managed to survive – despite a punctured lung, and having lost substantial amounts of blood – all thanks to the blood Damon got from Stella. “Sir! We have analyzed the blood-samples as you requested.” A man with dark hair and glasses spoke, as he stepped through the door, followed by a blond-haired woman, who proceeded to close the door behind her. “Arh, finally, and what did you find?” Damon asked, as he had just lit a cigarette and turned to them. “Well, apart from the bloòd’s extraordinary ability to cell repair, the hybrid’s blood also seems to have a strong resistance against all sorts of magic manipulation, which is why she was still able to use her powers despite the spell. We believe it is because her mere existence goes against the balance of nature..” the woman continued, making him raise an eyebrow. “You see, it’s not completely unheard of, that different races have been ‘mixing’, so to say, even if it’s rare.. But according to different history books, the offspring of these kinds of relationships normally only inherit their abilities from one of their parents, and therefore aren’t, per definition, hybrids.. Normally, she would have been either a werewolf or a Lux Blanda, or had no abilities at all.” the man explained, as Damon waited impatiently. “For hell’s sake, get back to the point, will you, before I decide to kill you out of boredom!” Damon growled, making the man jump frightened. “O-of course, Mr. Mortem, I’m sorry. So, first, we didn’t believe it had any kind of weakness, but we found something we think you will find interesting,” The man spoke. “And what is the thing that is so interesting?” Damon asked. “The only thing there seems to have any effect on the blood is this.” He spoke as he handed it to Damon. “And what exactly is it?”
