[Rosalie’s POV] I remain silent as Diego leads out the dark-haired beauty who appeared out of nowhere. It leaves me with an odd feeling in my chest. Maybe it was because of how strange Diego was acting earlier on, or maybe it was just my selfishness. Sighing, I tear my gaze away from the direction they left and flop down in my bed while pushing the sensation away. “Whatever they’re doing doesn’t concern you,” I murmur, tugging my blanket to my chin and rolling over so that my back is to the door. “Stop expecting things.” As the words leave my lips, I close my eyes and begin to let myself drift. When I wake up the next morning, Diego still hasn’t returned, but healer Murdoch and his assistant Clement have. Their presence is a welcome distraction from the torrent of emotions I’m feeling
