His Defiance

1503 Words

[Diego’s POV] I slam the gas, spurring my car forward on the street while weaving in and out of mid-day traffic. f**k, couldn’t these bastards go any quicker? I needed to get back to Moon Storm before my father caused too much trouble for Anthrose and Rosalie. Although I trusted Chanel enough to handle things, I wouldn’t put it past him to try something. Revving the engine, I feel my body press into my seat as I reach a hundred on the dash, but I am forced to stop by a line of cars waiting for a damned red light. Cursing traffic laws, I wait, and when I’m free to move again, I take back streets the rest of the way. When I arrive in Moon Storm, I pull my car into the garage and then make a beeline for the packhouse, which seems to be alive with members of the pack going about their day.
