I was annoyed, sleeping in a virtual world wasn’t too bad…. Or rather as my mother had told me this was no virtual world, but be that as it may I actually slept well. The apartment that vice head Arashi had prepared for me was homey, and it was quite close to where my mom was being kept but still a separate building from it. Either way the reason I was annoyed had to be due to the fact that somehow Kira had manifested himself out of my body and decided to leave a huge steaming pile of s**t on my blanket, and then he sat on the chairs opposite me, waiting for me to wake up to the gift he had delivered.
“If this s**t came out of you then your one nasty lizard…. Your insides must be as f****d up as you look.” I said to him as I got up and carefully picked up the sheets before throwing them in a laundry basket at the foot of then bed.
“Seriously ningen is that all you’re going to say to me, I just left s**t on your bed and quite close to your face I might add, don’t you want to kill me? Aren’t you incensed beyond all measure and want to throw me in a pot and make dragon soup! Huh?” I raised an eyebrow at that, smiling to myself as I realized something. Kira craved attention, showing him disregard of any sort would be more than enough to drive him crazy, and that was probably the worst sort of punishment you could give to him.
‘
“Well I’m not a kid Kira, I can’t get angry at the antics of one.” I said to him as I rubbed his scaly head, moving my hand away quickly as he attempted to take a bite out of it. I quickly ducked into the bathroom, narrowly dodging the spark of lightning he had thrown my way. I felt good, getting to the chibi dragon had actually made my day and made me a lot calmer than I thought I could be. Never the less I took a shower and quickly got dressed, Kira was missing by the time I was out of the bathroom, but I wasn’t too worried as I left the apartment and came up to clan’s assembly grounds. The ancestral tree looking ever imposing in the distance as a couple of people were gathered there, talking to Arashi who was decidedly red in the face as he tried his best to hold back his rage.
I contemplated just ignoring the situation, it wasn’t as if it had anything to do with me, but in the end this was a place my parents had built and Arashi was loyal to them. it wouldn’t be fair to leave him while he’s being antagonized by a couple of annoying looking people. Or at the very least that what it looked like. As I got closer I was then able to hear what they were saying quite clearly.
“Vice head Arashi, we cannot continue like this! The position of clan head has been vacant for too long, and Lady Kemisola cannot really administer leadership to the clan with her indisposition. We need to have a new clan head! the Kiryu clan will not be able to grow and move forwards without a new clan head and we need to recruit new experts. But in order to that you need to reduce the stringent recruiting requirements. Only the new clan members from the outer world can match up and that’s not fair. Not to mention many of our businesses have been taken over by the other clans and we’ve not been able to make use of the resources we currently have because of your gross mismanagement!” one of the people, an elderly man with red hair that was slowly fading into grey yelled at Arashi, saliva and sweat flying every which way as he shook his obese body in tandem with his speeches.
“Mismanagement? Me? Our clan is slowly fading into obscurity because all you bastards have refused to work together with me! You’ve tried to spoil all my efforts at every junction and usurp power for yourselves like the traitors you all are. All of our b businesses are still under our name, but you all took control and gifted them to other clans in exchange for benefits and to save your own asses. And when I and our lady try to utilize that which your greedy hands have not touched you all try to f**k with it and boycott all of my efforts. You all deserve a fate worse than death, and as long as I’m alive, not even just me, as long the Lady still lives, none of you can be clan head, the ancestral tree will not even recognize your diluted bloodline.” Arashi spat back at the obese man, who visibly vibrated in anger as he yelled out.
“Then just kill the useless b***h and let someone else more useful become the f*****g clan head!” he yelled out, but then shut up just as fast as everyone else had kept quiet looking at him in shock. I was confused, but I did understand one thing. No matter how treacherous they all were, going as far as saying the current clan head, the woman who was responsible for building up the Kiryu clan within the Shokan Toshi should be killed, was taking it a step too far. Especially after everything they had done, and even if it was an idea that was to be on the plate, to say it out loud was a mistake. And by this point I have heard enough of this bullshit.
“Arashi!” I called out as I moved towards them, dragging all of their attention to my presence as the gathered people took a step back, and then Arashi made a mistake as his eyes took on a panicked look.
“Young Master it’s not what it looks like, I will never let anyone harm your mother; the lady Kemisola.” Or perhaps it was not a mistake, they all now knew who the f**k I was, way ahead of when I had the strength to defend myself. These guys will eat me up and spit me out, but however, I’ve watched way too many mafia, and fantasy nobility movies and series and read just as much novels about them. after engineering and my recently discovered taste for violence…. politics was my second now third favorite hobby.
“What’s the punishment in the clan for treachery and rebellion?” I asked with a smile on my face.
“Execution and outing of one’s family and relatives from the clan and bloodline of the Kiryu clan.” He said to me as I smiled and then asked whilst pointing to the obese man.
“Well what are you waiting for…. Kill him!”
