Duel

1007 Words
The moment I agreed to the duel, a count down appeared in between me and the brown haired loud mouth i***t that I’m about to seriously carve into tiny pieces. I’m not really one for conflicts, but if the past few days have proven anything to me, it’s the fact that I’m a little too good at it. I pulled out both of my Katanas and positioned myself properly, I’m not too familiar with sword fighting techniques seeing as I’ve just been coasting by and relying on my instincts, but I believe I could deal with this guy. First thing I noticed was that he was quite impatient, he shouldn’t have been in many battles, because no one should ever be inpatient to put their life on the line. I took a deep breath as the count down slowly wound down. 9. 8. 7. 6. 5. 4. 3. 2. 1. 0……. *begin* I shot towards him keeping myself low, one katana held behind me and facing upwards, and the other held vertically in front of me. It came as a surprise to me, that this guy was just as fast as I was, if not a little bit more, and the massive windmill shurikens he held in both his hands seemed to have some sort of sinister light on their edge. But never the less, I was ready for him. (Flux) (Chakra Blade) Both swords began to glow a pale blue as my chakra covered it, but that wasn’t the end of it as a dull hum could be heard, both blades shaking in my hands. We reached each other at that moment, and he sliced down with one of his shurikens, it was spinning very fast, probably a technique of his that made it seem like a saw. I flicked my right katana upwards, clashing with the shuriken as their meeting caused loud grating sounds and released a shower of sparks that flew every which way. I brought the other sword down, and he shifted his other windmill shuriken to his face, blocking the strike. But unlike the other one that was spinning, the shurikens he used in defending was not, and because of that, my katana sliced halfway through the metal, shocking my opponent and giving me enough time to smash my mask covered head into his face. I heard a loud yet satisfying crunch as his nose was broken, but I didn’t stop there. My time in the forbidden forest has shown me that you always had to press your advantage in any fight you were in. If you give you enemy any breathing space, then he could very well turn the tables on you. His nose getting broken was something he didn’t expect, and he moved back two steps, probably surprised by the pain. I turned around, reversing the grip of my right katana so that the blade was facing down, and then I sliced upwards, first having the pommel hit him under his jaw in a redesigned uppercut, and then letting the deadly blade slice him from the spot between his legs, all the way to his jaw. {WINNER: Christopher Kiryū} There was a flash of light on both our bodies. I could feel the chakra that I had just used in the duel replenished, and he was healed of every injury. I guess that’s how the duels worked, for a moment I thought that it was some sort of life and death match, maybe he would have fought a lot harder then. I sheathed both swords, and gave him a look that I’m sure he would not have been able to see from behind my mask. If I was a lot stronger, and the katana's were of a higher grade, it’s possible I would have been able to completely split him in half. But that was just introspection on my part, because obviously it can’t be that easy. I looked at everyone else around, looking to see if there was going to be anyone else rearing to challenge me, but there was no one. Then I turned to the guy I just beat, ignoring the traumatized look on his face as he grabbed his groin and neck, probably the places he felt the most pain from our fight. “most of you here are players, to you this is just a game and you can act and be swayed and play along to whatever bullshit lore the system feeds you. But those people you’re throwing insults at, are my parents! People who have been separated from me for 11 years and have been prisoners in the virtual realm, they’re good people who were cut off from their family and forced to play this game! So while this may be a game to you, this is my life, this is my parents!.......this is also their life! And I have no idea where my father is, I don’t know if he’s dead or suffering somewhere, wishing he could see his wife, son and be there for the birth of his unborn grandchild! So let me warn all of your right now, you can say anything you want about me, but anyone of you childish idiots who throws shade at my family again, I’m going to make sure I kill and hunt you until you’re level 0! If none of you can’t deal with me without prejudice or judgment by the lore this game has given you, then please stay the f**k out of my way, or else there’ll be hell to pay.” I had said my piece, why I did so, I can’t say I understand. But maybe I did, after all I just spent an entire day walking through a city that just couldn’t help but hate my overly kind father and hotheaded mother, but still the nicest person I know. I hated the fact that they were being punished for doing the right thing, and everyone in this village thought they were villains, it wasn’t fair, it wasn’t fair at all.
