Chapter 6: Older sister is (definitely) not an innocent miss

Once she is done with her bath and dresses up for the night, she is still thinking about that man. Her family will be having their dinner later in the day, but she declined to join them for dinner because she it is a habit of hers not to take dinner daily.

Concubine Li Xiyin did not force her to join them as the original Shen Baiyu prefer to be eating on her own in the comfort of her own courtyard. For her to joins them for lunch and tea time are much appreciated by her family members. They just let her be and she continues to drown herself in reading the books earlier brought by Moli as per her instruction. She must thank her ‘dad’ for this. Even if she was sent to study in international schools, her dad hired a Chinese language tutor so that she will be able to read, talk and write in the Chinese language. That tutor of hers even taught her calligraphy as an extra lesson. She is fine with it. After all, her ancestors are originally from the Republic of China who migrated to Sabah during the British Occupation in the 1800s. Who knows that maybe this family might be somehow related to her dad's paternal family?

Pushing that fact aside which is not important for now. She has been given the chance to live as the eldest miss of the Shen family so she will live this life according to her will. As for marriage... She will decide once she finds someone that she genuinely like. The glaring fact that she is, in fact, a 34-year old transmigrated into a 17-year old body did not help much too. Even her so-called fiancé is just a 20-year old. Still an inexperienced fool. That man looks okay but he might be young as well. This older sister is not a cougar ah!

"Arghhhh!!!"

"Eldest miss! Are you alright?!?!?"

"Eh... Hahaha! I am alright, Moli. Just a little bit bored. Do inform my father that I wanted to go out for tomorrow. I wanted to go for sightseeing around the imperial city."

Moli look at her with a weird expression on her face, "Okay... I will go now and let the General and the madame know about it."

"Go. Spread your wings, girl. I need to continue my reading."

She then concentrates reading on the book about Kingdom of Nangong. Seems like Nangong family and the Shen have been working together for generations. Even the empress dowager came from the second branch of the Shen family which consists of scholars. Shen Baiyu came from the main branch of the Shen family which consists of military officials. The third branch of the family seems to prefer living in the countryside, but she has a feeling that this branch will make a comeback for sure as currently, some of them are making their way back up as respectful provincial officials.

She smiles as she continues to read the book. Seems like more drama will be brewing soon once the emperor decided to use this side of the family as the engagement between her and the crown prince will soon be annulled. After all, as an emperor, he needed the Shen family support. She noticed that her father seems to be somewhat withdrawn when it comes to make any sort of connection with the royal family. After all, it is a well-known fact that the current empress was originally her father's betrothed but the emperor when he was still the crown prince insisted to marry her as his crown princess. Her maternal grandfather, the former prime minister must let his eldest daughter to be the crown princess and fearing that the Shen family will somehow retaliate, he has given his third daughter to be the substitute. But, luckily, her father seems to love her gentle mother whom always have kind smile on her face.

Being guilty towards her younger sister and her former fiancé, her royal aunt insisted that if their first child is both boys, they will be sworn-brothers for life but, if one of it born as a girl, they will one day be married. How inconvenient... Simply making plans without letting her and the crown prince to decide for themselves. The result? Disastrous. The original Shen Baiyu almost died because of broken heart and, mostly, due to embarrassment. That timid girl has such a huge ego and convinced that she will be married if she just waits. Shen Baiyu ah... You are so naive, girl.

She then heard a soft knocks on her door, "Come in..."

Moli came in with a cup of tea and some dessert for her. This girl is so efficient in her job. Once she puts the cup of tea and plate of desserts on the reading table, she then says "Eldest miss, the General and madame allow you to go out for tomorrow. But second miss is coming with you too."

"Good. The more, the merrier. Prepare a veil hat for me. I do not want my skin to be affected by the UV rays..."

"Pardon?"

"Huh? What? You can leave now, Moli. I will call you if I need anything else."

Looking at Moli as she walks out from the room and, upon seeing her exiting the room, she sighs softly. Thank goodness! What a blunder...

"Me and my bloody mouth... Think like a miss, act like a miss. Aurelia, you can do this."

She continues to read the book and delightedly founds out if there are more single princes to be checked out by her during the banquet. Who knows if there is one who is more handsome than that fiancé of hers? She might not have the chance to marry any of them but... She has to enjoy checking them out. If possible, touch them too. She laughs evilly while closing her mouth with both of her hands. She must control herself though, she does not want to scare those 'lambs'. They did think that she is ugly right... She will prove them wrong, of course.

There are more than just simply looks in order to be attractive to others. The way you talk and how you represent yourself towards others will ensure that others will be engaged with you. She used to have others wrapped around her fingers in the modern days, especially the men. Should she use it here instead? Her face will remain a mystery, but she will attract them with her words and actions steps by steps. Should she first try on the man that she has just met? Who is he anyway? Maybe he will show up at the banquet. This older sister cannot wait to meet you, young man.

Somewhere is a not so far manor, a young man is smiling as he continued to stare at the direction where the Shen manor is located. Even though she covers her face, her confidence and aura tell him that she is an ugly girl is just a baseless rumour. Too bad for Crown Prince Nangong Yingjun but, a piece of welcoming news for him. But he can feel that it will not easy to wins her heart. That girl directly stared at him and talked to him calmly without any sign of fears. She will be the right person as his crown princess. All he has to do is to convince her to accept his request.

One of his shadow guard suddenly shows up and kneel before him, "Your Royal Highness, the eldest miss will go out for tomorrow. Her younger sister and her personal maidservant will be accompanying them."

"Just three of them. The maidservant is an expert in martial arts. The younger sister as well. Nothing much is known about the eldest miss though." Crown Prince Beitang Moran look at his shadow guard and smile (which scares the hell out of that poor shadow guard).

"Very well. I will be going out tomorrow too. On my own. Do not let my sister know about this."

"Yes, Your Royal Highness."

With that, the shadow guard is no longer in sight, but his master is smiling still.

"Shen Baiyu... Shen Baiyu... You definitely caught the attention of this prince."
