Lady Sophia come inside the Duke's office after given the permission from his staff.
When inside the office, she give a formal greeting to her husband.
Duke Ernest stared at her indiferent face.
He remember how the woman become hysterical almost everyday during their earlier marriage year.Truly tiring him.
Meeting her for the first time at a party he hosted before, he sees her as a strong-willed person. Which is the kind of person he cannot go along with.
He does not like how the girl see herself above the other so he gives her a stern warning when she try to teach his staff on how to work their work properly.
However he does not understand how his action catch the girl's eye until the girl start to chase him.
When the girl approach him, he evade her with all his might. Until a royal decree come for he to marry the girl.
He did not want the marriage to happen since he had a lover from childhood that he cherished too much.
But as a noble, he have to fulfilled his responsiblity and agreed.
From the first day they were together, he had never touch her.
Everyday his wife come into his office, screaming at him as if asking for his attention and heart.
He told her that it couldnt be realized since his heart already be given to his lover and intended to marry her.
Hearing that, his wife's eyes start to turn fiery.
He dont know what his wife planned.
However, after married her lover, her hysterical and unreasonable behaviour keep making he nauseting.
Until a day, when he heard his first wife bullied his second wife, he confronts her.
However, he never thought that his first wife could drug him.
This make his heart in rage that he cannot stand to stay with her even a second.
Hearing that the girl pregnant after that kind of act, he couldnt feel happy eventhough it is his first child that will be born.
Then, his first wife start to become quiet. He did not want to meet her because he thought it is her tricks in getting him.
Thus, he spends all his time with his second wife and do not bother himself about his first wife's matter.
He could see that after almost 10 years, that strong willed girl now become a quiet woman now. A woman that giving a cold feeling just like there is nothing in the world thats matter for her.
Sigh~ Looking back at his younger days, perhaps it is fault due to his stuborness which forced the woman to change like this.
If only he give his attention to her earlier, maybe she wouldnt be like this. Maybe both of his family will live in peace.
He feels regret. Truly regret.
Seeing Duke Ernest quietly staring at her, she start her conversation.
"My Lord, i come here to personally ask you give your permission in letting your daughter, Ruca to learn poison".
"Poison... among all things that can be learned, why poison?"
Not many people learn it since this field is not popular among children and eventhough it is a branch of alchemy, there is less people interest in it so any kind of transaction are hard to deal.
"This you can ask herself".
"Okay, you can ask Ruca to come into my office".
"Then I excuse myself". Knowing there are nothing more to be discussed, Lady Sophia start to move out from the office.
"Do you blame me?".
Hearing that, Lady Sophia turn back to look at Duke Ernest.
"For what?"
"For everything".
"Why bother, its not like anything will change".
Hearing the word, Duke Ernest felt guilty.
"I am sorry". He apologized sincerely. Looking at her
Lady Sophia was shocked. It never appear even in her dream that Duke Ernest apologized to her.
Hearing the word, She feel like nothing burden her heart anymore. All her frustration and pain in her heart drift away.
She feel more calm.
"I am sorry too". She aplogized to him too. So both of them do not feel bitter anymore.
"If there is nothing more, i excuse myself".
"I will give Ruca anything she want and she will got the best". Duke Ernest tell her.
Smiling sincerely as she think about her daughter, she said, "Thank you". Then she walk away.
At that moment, what Duke Ernest think is;
'Its look like she can smile like that too. Thankfully'.
