"I don't get it, Nana! Why would dad look for another wife?" Hana blurted in her room. She is crying. She couldn't accept the fact that she has a stepmom now. "Are they even married?" She asked

Nana sighed. "What I know is they are still preparing for their wedding." She honestly replied.

Hana just sighed hard. "I don't like the thought of having another mom." she said while looking outside the window. "But Dad seems to be happy about this." She said.

Nana went near her. She patted Hana's shoulders. "Why don't you give your stepmom a chance? A chance to prove herself to you? A chance to prove that she can also act as your mom?" She suggested to Hana.

Hana looked Nana. Nana is smiling at her. She is giving Hana an encouraging look. Hana sighed and just nodded. "As long as dad is happy. I'll be fine." she said as she finally decided to give her stepmom a chance.

"Good morning, Hana!" Jina greeted enthusiastically. She was preparing the table for breakfast when Hana woke up.

Hana was a bit shocked at how Jina was treating her. *She's not as bad as stepmoms should be.* She thought.

"Come here, Hana ah! Sit down an have your breakfast." Jina said as she pulled the chair where Hana will sit.

"Where's dad?" Hana asked.

"He went out earlier. He said he will be in a meeting." Jina replied as she placed Hana's utensils.

Jina started to put dishes on Hana's plate. These dishes were made by her. She woke up early in the morning to help in preparing breakfast.

Hana looked at her stepmom as she was placing food on her plate. She was touched and smiled at the thought of having someone to take care of her again, a mom.

"Thank you." Hana finally uttered. "You should eat too." She said as she motioned Jina to sit down as well.

"Oh! Gomawo!" Jina beamed as he took her sit and started to eat as well.

Hana could see joy in the way Jina acts. She can also see sincerity in her actions. With that, she smiled. She realized that Jina isn't that bad at all.

"Hana, I'll just go to the grocery store." Jina told Hana. "Just stay here, okay?"

Hana looked at Jina who is in her grocery attire. She smiled and stood up. "can I come with you?" she asked.

Jina was a bit shocked at how her stepdaughter is acting. But she is still happy about it. "Sure!" She replied happily.

Hana nodded and they both went out of the house.

"Owwwwwwww!" Hana blurted as he bumped into someone. Jina was shocked at the impact of the collision.

"You weren't looking." The musculine guy said. Hana knew he was a guy because she bumped into a BROAD SHOULDER.

"Sor-" Hana was about to bow down to ask for apology when Jina stepped forward.

"EXCUSE ME MISTER! Is that the proper way to apologize to a girl you just bumped with with that muscly body of yours? Don't you know some manners?!" Jina scolded the guy.

However, the guy just furrowed her eye brows at Jina and went closer. "Wae? Who are you anyway?" He asked.

Jina scoffed. "This guy! Why didnt your parents reach you nice lessons when you were young?!" She blurted. "Me? I am her mother! Now, do you have something else to say?!" she raised her voice even more.

The guy didn't even flinch and even motioned to hit Jina. Jina was already ready to defend herself while Hana was just stuck in her place still in a state of shock.

Just as when the guy was about to hit Jina, someone grabbed the guy's hand which caused him to hit the floor.

Jina and Hana were both shocked to see the arrogant guy already down on the floor. They looked at that someone who helped them.

He was smirking on the arrogant guy. "Hitting a lady, eh?" He said. "Perfect guy." He muttered with sarcasm.

The arrogant guy was yelping in pain and shaking in fear at the same time.

"Now, run before I even get started with you." He said. And immediately, the arrogant guy stood up and ran away.

"Thank you!" Jina thanked him. "What's your name?" She asked.

The guy laughed awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his neck. "It's nothing, Nana." he smiled. "Btw, I am Chester Kim." He said.

With that Jina smiled. "Oh my, Chester, you look really handsome." Jina pinched L's cheeks.

Hana was there dumbfounded at what happened. It seemed like a déjà vu.

*"Taking advantage of a teenage girl? How pathetic."* Hana thought. *like mr. Masked guy.* she thought again.

"Hana? Hana?" Hana was broken off from the thoughts she has been thinking as Jina waved her hand in front of her face.

"Eh?" Hana asked. There she saw L and Jina looking at her. She didn't even notice that L was the guy who helped them. She seemed to be surprised to see L. "L?" She asked.

L looked at her and rolled his eyes. Hana mentally slapped herself for asking such a stupid question that just earned her a "Roll eyes" from the Shrugger boy.

"Nana, I'll be going now." L bowed and walked ahead.

Jina and Hana watched L go ahead of them.

"Thank god! You are not harmed." Jina said as she examined Hana.

Hana just smiled. "I'm fine." She assured. "Thank you for standing before me." She continued.

Jina smiled at her and held Hana's cheeks. "It's nothing, Hana. That's what moms do." She said as she held Hana's hand. "Let’s go? We still have to buy some things at the grocery!" She beamed.

Hana just smiled and nodded. *That's what moms do? Guess she's not bad at all.*
