I've asked my parents to wait till I'm twenty to take over my duties so I can continue to learn under my mother. I have no problem ruling without a mate, but I would like to travel to find him before I'm crowned. My parents are throwing a huge ball tonight and they have invited the Alphas along with their Lunas to bring their grown children. My mother said its to present me, but I know she is hoping my mate will be among the men. My father however is not as keen on me finding my mate. The only part of tonight I'm going to hate is seeing the disappointment on Liam's face. I know in my heart he is not my mate, and I would never hurt him by saying it but I don't want him to be. I see him as a brother not as a man I want to mate with. The knock on the door brings me out of my thoughts. "Hey mom wants you to come to her office" Jackson says. Why didn't she just link me? Oh, that's not happening I walk over to Sabrina one of the omegas. Excuse me what exactly is happening here I say to a large man that looks like a young Alpha. "Don't worry about it little girl I know how to handle the help." First of all, you will address me as Princess Aubrielle not little girl. Secondly you will not speak to anyone in the pack that way. Violet POV Asher sit down all that pacing is making me crazy. "I hate this Violet why don't we just wait till she is twenty." I would rather it happen here, so we have a chance to meet him. If she travels and finds him, we won't be there. "I don't want her to find him at all." Enough Asher she isn't a child anymore and she has every right to meet her mate. "I know it's just she is my little girl and I hate the thought of some man being so important." You are her father nothing will change that Asher. A knock sounds on the door and Aubrielle walks in looking pissed. What's wrong Auby? She takes a deep breath "I just had to deal with some arrogant Alpha who was mistreating Sabrina just because she is an omega." My husband stands "which Alpha Aubrielle?" " I have no idea dad I've never met him before, but I handled it." He smiles and I walk around my desk. Happy Birthday baby girl we say in unison. "Thank you, mom and dad." Are you excited about your ball tonight? "I don't know I hate feeling like a prize at the carnival for some of these Alpha's that only want to be King." I hug Aubrielle before she leaves to find her friends to get ready for the Ball tonight. At the Ball Aubrielle POV I have on a red satin dress that I absolutely love. I love my black hair and fair skin against the deep red color. I have my shoulder hair curled and framing my face. I look in the mirror before I head for the door. I am not wafer thin and I love my curves. I start to walk down the stairs when I hear my best friend Morgan hooting at me. Alright Morgan settle down we both look awesome. "Are you kidding Auby you look like a damn model." I laugh let's get in there before my mother sends one of my brothers looking for us. When we walk in everyone looks toward us and I feel like a fish in the bowl. We walk to our table and have a seat next to my parents. I feel someone put their hands over my eyes and instantly I know its Liam. Liam you can't really play that trick on a wolf. He laughs "I guess you're right." He sits down at the table after he kisses my cheek. I can see his disappointment all over his face. I smile but I don't say anything because I can't make this better for him. After we eat Liam asks me to dance and based on the fact that no male in here has claimed me, I agree. We are dancing for a few minutes when I get a tap on my shoulder. I turn to see none other than Mr. A**hat. "I would like a dance princess." I appreciate the offer, but I don't think so I say and turn back to Liam. I can see he is pissed about this guy wanting to dance with me, but I tell him to calm down. Apparently, English is not his first language because he is not taking no for an answer. I give in only to avoid Liam getting in a fight with him. Liam its fine I'll be right over when I'm done. The Alpha grabs me around the waist pulling me close to him. I push back creating some space between us. "Come on princess look at me, you and I will make beautiful pups." I don't even know your name and you're talking about pups. I believe I told you, you are not my mate earlier. "My name is Alpha Marcus of the Midnight Crawler Pack." That's a fitting pack name I think to myself. Just as I'm about to pull away from him I hear a loud howl and all hell breaks loose. I run toward the door that leads outside to the pack yard when I see at least two hundred rogues running toward us. I rip the bottom of my dress so I can fight if I need to. All the males start to shift running toward the rogues when I get the most intoxicating smell of lilacs. I hear a voice I've never heard in my head say "Mate." I smile you are my wolf; I've been waiting for you. "Yes Aubrielle, I'm Star." "A special wolf for a special girl." Is that really our mate I smell? "Yes, now we need to find him before someone hurts him." As if on cue a wolf with the most beautiful white fur and blue eyes lands in front of me. As soon as our eyes meet, I feel the bond he is my mate. My mate is a rogue.
