I could tell that the atmosphere in the pack was different than before. The warriors that received me at the border looked tense. Once I got to the Pack House I could tell that something was going on there. The first one I saw was Hector, Hope's brother.
"Welcome back," he said. "Are you here about my sister?" he asked.
"I'm here because of something that was reported to us. We heard about a deserter from your pack with some interesting claims. I want to talk to Doom about it."
"The Alpha is busy right now. Come here and have some rest, he will come to see you as soon as he can."
"What is he doing?" I asked.
"Just Pack business, you know. It's not easy to be in charge of a pack," he was avoiding my eyes, something that I didn't like, it made him look guilty.
