Hope
It was surreal. I had never imagined I was going to become the True Mate of Dagger, one of the UberPack heirs, but here I was. As I headed to the training grounds, I started to feel people staring at me, and not everyone's eyes were nice. Were they mad at me for something? Were they thinking I wasn't suited to be Dagger's mate?
Risk was talking besides me, and I let her fill the silence. She was very excited to learn we were family now, as she said. I was glad I had her with me, because I was feeling some hostility in the air, and I needed her support.
When we arrived at the training grounds, I felt some of the other trainees staring daggers at me, while most of them were just ignoring me. Even the trainer was a little harsher with me during the training session.
