I take a seat on Sadie’s right, and Milo to my right. Kenton sits across from me, next to Lana, who hasn’t stopped glaring at me since she first spoke to me. The rest of the Senses find their seats around us, and then, when the doors open, they all stand.
Right, I think grimly as I rise to my seat and offer a cold smile to Queen Ava as she steps into the Great Hall. We stand for queens.
“I trust you’ve made all the proper introductions,” Ava says to us as she takes her seat at the head of the table. “Lady Nell has had a long journey, so I encourage you all to get to know her during dinner and let her go and catch up on her rest when it is over.”
“Yes, Your Majesty,” Sadie says sweetly. “It’s so exciting to have her here. When will she start training with us?”
