Amelia POV The beautiful thing about books is that they are safe. You could go on whole adventures across dozens of novels, delve into the depths of hell itself, fly through the skies, embark on the seven seas and battle sea monsters and none of the pain- physical nor emotional- can truly touch you. I’ve read books that made me cry before, of course, and haven’t we all? But nothing has ever driven me into such distress that I vomited in response.
