The following night Eli didn’t return to visit, other night after, by the third night of his absence Lily was getting extremely anxious, it was all I could do to stop her reaching through the burning bars to grab one of the guards by the throat and squeeze until he told her where the future Alpha was.
‘Calm down Lil’ I muttered through the bars for what felt like the two hundredth time that day.
‘What if something has happened to him, what if his Uncle found out about him coming down to see us’ Lily growled back at me, I could feel that she was pacing the floor in agitation and I didn’t know what to say to make her feel better.
‘He’ll come back Lil’ I soothed, ‘you know he will, he’s just trying to do what you asked him’.
