Lissie
"Please, give me another month! I promise, I'll pay you back with the interest-"
"Mr.Keeve." Dahlia interrupts the old guy while shaking her head slowly and walked around the guy that's on his knees and begging, captured in his both hand by Tim and Brian. "Isn't it funny that we're here in this situation again after exactly one month ago?"
"I k-know, but please understand my situation, I've been struggling to find money just to pay you back! I have no job, I don't know where will I get the money! That's why I couldn't pay-!"
"Exactly!" Dahlia exclaimed, pointing at the old guy. "You don't have a job, so how would you pay your debt? And please, don't asked me again to help you, we maybe have the same last name but we're not related to each other."
The old guy's eyes became dilated and unfocused, perhaps, he realized what he just said and put himself in a situation that he knew he f****d up.
"C'mon Dahlia, let me take his head." Tim said impatiently, smacking the old guy's head.
"We don't need head, we need the money." Brian hissed.
"But he doesn't have any money to pay us, let's just kill him so we could go home." Tim said.
Dahlia sighs deeply before looking back behind her. "What now, Lis?"
I looked at her for a second then to the guy. I twitch my lips and scrunch my nose up, heaved a long stroke in my cig and released it along with a long sigh before I pushed myself up from the chair. Skyler offered his palm as I killed the cigarette, he hissed but didn't complain.
"Stupid." I chuckled and ruffle his hair before I walked closely to mr. Keeve and bend over on my knee. My hand went to his chin and lift it up so our eyes could meet. I saw how his eyes widened slowly upon seeing me. "Mr. Keeve, you already wasted my five months, how will you pay me if you don't even have a job?"
"I..I-."
"You are a piece of gambling s**t, you're already in debt but still had the guts to gamble, don't you have a family to feed? You drunkard moron!" I growled and grab his hair, fisting them hard against my hand. "You owe me hundred million dollars, and you can't even pay a single penny?!"
"I'll p-pay you! I promise-!"
"How?!" I yell in his face and slap him hard that my ring left a cut on the corner of his lips.
He became silent for a moment, bowled over and staring at his hands on the floor. "I..I h-have a daughter-."
"Asshole!" I shouted and kick him in his gut, he grasped for an air but my two friends didn't let go, they just stayed holding him tight while the old guy recieving multiple kicks and blow from me. "How dare you to sell your daughter just to pay your debt?! You useless father!" I yelled while keep hitting him, until Dahlia had to grab me away from the man and Brian continue what I was doing, throwing several hit in every part of his body, not minding if he killed the old guy.
"Lis, there's someone coming!" Skyler, who's standing near the door to be our lookout, said.
I released a sharp breath and signalled everyone to hide, leaving the beaten into pulp guy on the floor. Tim and Brian hide at the room behind them, Skyler stood behind the door and Dahlia dragged me to the darker corner and covered my mouth as my audible breathing could still hear.
We waited in silence and let that whoever s**t interrupt us to enter the house so I could kill them both and Mr. Keeve as the compensation of his debt.
I prepared my pocket knife when I hear keys jungling behind the door. When the person flicked the lights on, illuminating the whole house, I was about to move but immediately stopped when I heard a woman's voice.
"Dad!" The girl exclaimed horrifically upon seeing his dad dying on the floor. She let her things dropped and ran to him but Skyler stepped out and grabs the girl from behind, covering her mouth, ready to stab her in her neck.
"Don't!" I shouted as soon as I removed Dahlia's hand from my mouth. Sky's knife left hanging in the air and looked at me in confused. "Don't kill her." I said more calmly and stepped out from the corner.
"She maybe the daughter." Brian said, eyeing the girl in Sky's hand.
"You got a beautiful daughter here, old guy." Dahlia said chuckling.
"Let her go." I ordered that Sky immediately obliged. The girl quickly run to her dad and pick up the man's head.
"Dad! W-what happen? Why did they do-."
"He didn't want to pay the money that he borrowed from our boss." Tim said after coming out of the room.
"He owe you money! But why did you tried to kill him?! How could he pay you if he's dead?!" The woman shouted, her voice raging blast inside the bungalow house.
"Even if he's alive, he still couldn't pay us, then we'll just kill him so we're even." Tim shrugs.
"You're all demon for doing this to my dad!"
"He's a demon for gambling too much knowing that he doesn't have a job or any money to feed his daughter." Dahlia said between her gritted teeth.
"I'll call the cops-."
"Ah yes please-!"
"What the f**k, Lia?" Skyler cut her off. "I know that you liked detective Parry, but neither of us wants to go in jail just because you sold us out."
"Ah right, I'm sorry." Dahlia said sheepishly and looked over her shoulder. "What are we gon' do with them?" She asked.
My eyes fixed at the girl next to her dying dad, mouth opened, and in amused. I can't take my eyes off of her, she's so beautiful, her cat-like eyes with tears escaping from them, running down to her fluffy cheeks are so captivating. I can't believe that this old s**t guy have a gorgeous daughter.
"Uh, boss?" Brian shrug my shoulder, snapping me out from my trance.
"Let's head out-."
"What? How about the money?" Dahlia asked.
I stared at her for a moment, thinking something deeply, considering the old guy's offer earlier. Then my eyes shifted to the girl who's crying on the floor with her dad in her hands.
"He's paid." I said, earning a loud gasp from my friends. I walked over to the girl and grab her hand and pull her up to stand in her feet. "Let's go."
"Let me go!" The girl tried to escape from my grip but I didn't let go and hold her tighter.
"You will be the pay for your dad's debt." I said without looking at her and continue dragging her towards the door.
"W-what? No! I'll pay you-!"
I abruptly remove my hand from her and turned around hastily to face her. "Oh yeah? You'll pay me?"
"Yes!" The girl yelled in too much anger that her chest rising and falling rapidly, tear continuously running down.
"How?!" I yelled back the same rage as well. "Do you have hundred million dollars to pay me back at that instant?!"
The girl's feline eyes widened and her head snapped back to her father, then back to me. "W-why does he owe you such amount of money?"
"He gambled to my casino and borrowed money, he lied to our men that he owns several big companies, showing them fake calling cards." Dahlia explained.
"And you believed him?! Your men are i***t!" The girl said, which made my friend snickers.
"Yes, they're i***t for believing him." Tim said and burst out laughing.
"I already chastised Rina and Chad for that." Dahlia said, shaking her head in disappointment every time she'll remember the mistake of those two dumb s**t who easily got fooled because of fake calling card.
"Lis, we have no time for this. We need to go, it's almost dinner." Brian reminds and tap his watch.
My eyes shifts back to the girl in front of me and raise my left brow. "So tell me, can you pay me?"
The girl was silent for a few seconds, staring down at her hands, then she darts up her head, meeting my eyes. "Let me pay you, not that instant, but I will, I have a part time job-."
"J-just take her, please."
My eyes shut and hold my breath for one second, pursed my lips and heave a deep breath before I sharply released it, just to keep what's left on my composure.
"D-dad.."
"Go with them, Jeane. You will be the pay for my debt, just go and never come b-back again."
"Bullshit!" I said and run to the guy, kicking him right in his gut. "You don't deserve to be a father! You useless piece of s**t!"
"Enough!" The girl shouted behind me and pushed me hard, luckily, Tim caught me and he made sure that I was not hurt before he charge at the girl.
"Tim no!" I stopped him but it was too late, he already slapped the girl. "s**t!" I grumble and walked back to them. "Apologize to her!"
"She hurt you!"
"No she didn't!" I yelled back. The place fell in silence as they are all looking at me in disbelief. "Ok maybe yes, but that's only in reflex because I'm kicking her father."
"Lis, tick tock!" Brian reminds again, I take a quick glance at my watch and my rounded eyes became more wider.
"s**t! Let's go, or we'll be dead!" I said and looked at the girl. "You're coming with me and I will let your father live, make a choice..now." I said firmly.
"Jeane, please. Go with her, please, I'm begging you, I don't want to die!" Mr. Keeve begs, tears and bloods mixed up in his face.
"Why a-are you doing this to m-me? I'm your daughter."
"Exactly, don't you w-want to help out your father?"
"But that's your debt! You used all my mom's money in casino and now you're selling me just to-!"
"I don't give a damn about your mother nor her money! She left us because I'm poor! And now, I need you to pay my debt so you'll have a use for me!"
My mouth fell open and looked at the guy in disbelief. "What an asshole." I murmured and shook my head. "Let's go, I don't have time for this drama." I hissed impatiently and grabs Jeane's arm and tugged her with me. The girl didn't react this time and let me grab her. I looked over my shoulder to look at her, then to Tim and nod my head.
Brian open the backseat door for me and I let the girl to hop inside the car first before I hop in. We sat in silence and wait for my friends to come out, I nod my head to Brian and he immediately rolled the window up to muffled the loud scream from Jeane's dad.
When Dahlia entered the car, Brian switch on the engine and he started to drive away, followed with the others in another car behind us.
"What are you thinking?" I asked to break the silence because of the awkwardness.
"How can I pay you back?" She asked, not even sparing me a single glance as her eyes fixed outside the window next to her.
"I don't know." I honestly admit, earning a ludicrous look from Brian and Dahlia through the rearview mirror.
"As I've said earlier, I have a part time job and I'll pay you gradually."
"You can't be serious." I chuckled.
"I am. I know that it'll take time but at least, I can pay you." The girl said sternly as she looked at me, her eyes filled with anger. I don't know if it's meant for me or to her dad, who just sold her.
"You know ms. Keeve, that's not how it works." Dahlia chimes in from the shotgun seat, looking behind through the rearview mirror. "You father owes Lissie, hundred million dollars and if you intend to pay her base on your salary to whatever job you have, your already dead but you haven't pay all of that."
"Then I'll stop from school and find a better job!"
"How could you find a better job if you drop out from school?" Brian asked, but eyes still focused on the road.
"I-."
"That's enough." I cut her off and leaned forward. "Dahlia, could you get me the kit?"
"Why-." Dahlia stopped from asking when she caught a glimpse of my eyes after the car that passes by illuminate my face. "Ok, here." She said breathily as she handed me the small box of med kit from the dashboard.
"Thank you." I said monotonically and leaned back. I rummage the box and look for a bud and an ointment. "Bri, could you open the light."
"Yes, boss." He obeys without asking.
I looked up from the box to Jeane's face, and reach for her face. She dodged it first but I still caught her chin and forced her face to face me. "Sorry about this." I said as I started to treat the cut in her lips, caused by Tim.
"Who are you?" She asked. I can feel her gaze through my face but I didn't dare to look up and just focus in her lips. "How could you stomach killing people for money?"
"Ms. Jeane Keeve-."
"Call me Jeane." Jeane hisses at Dahlia who just chuckled at the girl's fierceness.
"Ok, Jeane. But about your question, we don't kill people for money, we kill them because they owe our boss money. If they don't pay us, then we'll take their life."
"Is there any difference? You still killed people because of money." Jeane huffed.
"Let's just say you're right, but the thing is. That is our boss money, they used it to fulfill their desire such as gambling, alcohols, luxury things and so on, but if they borrowed the money, they should pay it back."
"Then how could they pay you back if you already killed them?!"
I really adore Jeane's fierceness, knowing that she's in the hands of the mafias who just beat and almost killed his dad.
After I finished treating Jeanea's wound, I throw the box behind me and leaned my head, closing my eyes and let them continue their arguments.
"Just who the hell are you and why did you take me for, if you didn't want me to pay you back with my own money?" Jeane asked raggedly, I could hear her sharp breathes clearly.
"Just shut up and let me rest. I got tired after beating your dad." I said which I earned a hard punch on my stomach from the girl next to me.
"You b***h-!"
"I'm f-fine." I said even if I'm grasping for an air to stop Dahlia from crawling at the back.
"She f*****g punched you!"
"I know." I said and took a deep breath to relax myself and looked beside me. "You got strong punch." I said chuckling, then turn into loud laugh, which made her to look back at me in confusion.
"Why are you laughing?"
"I don't know either." I said and continue laughter. I saw Jeane looked at my friends but she just received a shoulder shrugs from them.
Brian honk the horn when he stopped in front of the big silver gate and a guard pressed the button next to him and the gate automatically opened. He parked the SUV in between of my car and to Dahlia's car. Tim parked his car next to Tom's car, his twin brother and all of them hopped out. Skyler immediately open the door for me and I thank him with my genuine smile.
"You're late!" I yelp at the loud and raging voice coming from the main door just before I could step out from the SUV. "How many times do I have to remind you that you can't be late tonight!"
"Jeez! Tell her to shut her mouth, mom might hear her." I hissed and Dahlia chuckled but still walked over the girl standing at the main door.
"Shut it, Nashly. Aunt Margy might hear you."
"I already did, where's my daughter?" I twitch upon seeing my mom behind Nashly, my nagger friend s***h cousin s***h business partner s***h partner in crime s***h the most irritating person alive in the world.
"Mom! I'm here, I'm sorry were late, I just fetched someone." I said and turned to Jeane. "Don't say a word or your dad will die." I threatens and offered my hand at her but she swat it away and climbed out in her own.
"Who is she?" Mom asked curiously, neck craning to see who's the unfamiliar girl.
"My cousin." Dahlia said smiling wickedly. "Auntie, she's Jeane Keeve, Jeane this is aunt Margy our boss's- I mean, Lissie's mom."
"Oh hi there beautiful lady- wait what happen to your face?" Mom asked worriedly when she saw the purple bruise in Jeane's face, then her eyes shifted to me. "What did you do to her?!"
"Mom? It wasn't me!" I said defensively.
"She's from abusive family and we saved her, that bruise are from her dad." Dahlia explained and mom's eyes softened as she looked back to Jeane.
"Are you ok, sweetheart?"
"No." Jeane replied. She was about to say another word but Tim and Brian stood behind my mom and they showed Jeane his dad's picture to warn her. "I mean, I'm sorry. I.. just-."
"I think she needs a rest." I chimed in and put my arm around Nashly who's just eyeing the new girl intently. "Mom, could you please help her to our one guest room? I'll head to the kitchen to say my hi to dad."
"Sure sweety, but don't bother him ok? He's busy making your favourite food."
"Yes mom and thank you." I said with a genuine smile. When mom turned around tugging Jeane with her, my smile fades away and glare at Jeane's back that sure enough she could feel it.
"Who is she?" Nashly asked, still looking at new and unfamiliar woman's back.
"Remember mr. Keeve?" Brian asked and Nashly nodded.
"Yes, the one who gambled and lied to us that he owns several companies?"
"She's the daughter." Tim said.
"What is she doing here?" Nashly asked again, this time, looking up to me.
"He paid Lissie with his daughter, I can't imagine there's a father like that." Dahlia said, shaking her head.
"Poor girl." Nashly said sympathetically. "But why did you brought her home? And why'd you let aunt Margy to accommodate her? What if she'll spill out about your job, aren't you scared that she'll do that?"
"We have her dad, it's up to her if she open her mouth." Brian said.
"That's enough, I need to go to the kitchen, where's the other?" I asked as we all started to walk inside my parents house and let the topic drop as I don't want to remember my past in Jeane's situation.
"They're here." Brian said when we heard the honking horn outside the gate and Suvi's car came in, driving in speed as if they were being tailed. She parked the car and we waited for them to climb out but no one step out, the car was just wiggling as if someone is fighting inside.
"Check them out." I said and Tim immediately obliged, unsheathing the gun behind him and walked slowly towards the door. When he opened the driver seat, he immediately slammed it shut.
"Ew!" He shrieked.
"What happen?" I asked confusedly as I removed my hand from Nashly's shoulder and walked over them, but I stopped when the driver's side door open and Suvi climbed out, wiping the blood stain in her face.
"What a moron!" Suvi kept hissing while walking forward, followed with Jasmin and Tom. "Boss, next time, could we use gun and not knife to kill them?"
"You killed mr. Choi?" I asked in amusement.
"He said he'll never pay you even if we kill him." Tom said who's wearing his new shirt and throw at the nearest garbage can his shirt with blood stain.
"And you killed him?" I asked again.
"No, Jazmin did. She got no patience." Suvi chuckled, which made Jazmin to scoffed.
"Dinner with Lissie's parents is more important than wasting our time to some dimwit who don't want to pay back." She said while fixing her length shoulder hair.
"Drop it, let's not talk about our work inside. And one more thing, there's this girl named Jeane Keeve and she's Dahlia's cousin." I said before I turn around but immediately stopped when Tom spoke.
"Your cousin? Is she hot?"
"Keep your d**k inside your pants Tommy, or I'll cut him off of you." I growled and they all fell in immediate silence.
"Y-yes boss. I'm sorry." He apologized sincerely.
"She's not my real cousin, but just pretend that she is and we're all good." Dahlia said giggling and wrapped her arm around Tom's shoulder. "Relax, she won't do that, you know her."
"Hey baby. So you killed another guy huh? How is it?" Nashly asked Jazmin as she clings onto her.
"Please, I'm still not used to it, but I think I'm on it sooner or later." Jazmin still had the gut to act naive after killing ms. Choi and which cause us to laugh.
"Just expect detective Parry and detective Baeton tomorrow in Lissie's house." Brian said.
"That is why Jazmin doesn't have patience at all, huh?" Tim teased and the rest of them coos, poking Jazmin side to tease her making Nashly to scoff.
"Shut up." Jazmin chaffed, but the smile starts creeping up to her lips, couldn't deny that she's excited at the idea to see her long time crush but not Nashly.
"I need to thank you for killing mr. Choi." Dahlia said as she's also excited to see detective Parry.
"That's enough." I rebuked as we all reached the kitchen door and behind the stove standing my old man, in his chef uniform and busy cooking behind the stove. "Dad."
"You're late, young lady." He said sternly, without even looking at me.
"I'm sorry." I said.
"Have you already deal mr. Keeve and mr. Choi?" He asked.
"Yes, mr. Choi didn't want to pay so Jazmin killed him and about mr. Keeve..." I trail off and didn't know what to say next. Should I tell him about his daughter? For sure, Dad will ask me to kill her in return of mr. Keeve's debt but I can't do that to an innocent girl with cute cat-like eyes.
"What about mr. Keeve?" He asked and this time, he turned off the stove and turn his heel to face me, fixing his glass that's sitting against his nose bridge and glower at me. "Lissie." He pressed when I didn't continue.
"He's still alive and asked for another month-."
"You should've killed him, his debt ran for five months and-."
"I took her daughter with me to make sure he's going to pay." I interrupt my dad and stood straight with my head hung low, waiting for him to hit me for making decisions about it, but ten seconds had already passed and I still did feel nothing. I looked up to him and he's just staring at me with unreadable expression.
He cleared his throat and nod his head once. "Ok, I leave everything to you, just make sure that your mom won't know."
"Yes, sir." I salute and tilt my head on the side. "Can I.. hug you now?" I asked like a kid made a mistake just like how I accidentally made mistake when I was a kid.
He chuckled and removed his apron, putting it above the countertop and open his arms. "Give your old man a hug." He said and that's my cue to run to him and hug him tight in his waist, but Dad had this huge tummy that I couldn't wrap my arms around him further.
"I miss you Dad!"
"I miss you too, princess. I know it's hard to handle the job I passed to you but please, know that it's been like that since then. I know you can do better than me." He said and ruffles my hair. "Let's get to the dining area, I cooked a lot."
"Finally! My stomach are whining." Dahlia said and we all walked out of the kitchen to the dining area.
And this is my life, I'm the mafia boss, Dahlia Suvi, the twin– Timmy and Tommy, Brian, Skyler and Jazmin are my trusted men. Nashly is my cousin, she's helping me with my job as her father is my dad's business partner before they decided to passed it in me and Nashly.
And yes, we killed people who have debts that they couldn't pay from borrowing in my casino. I owned several big casinos scattered in the world, in Asia, US, Europe and etc. We are not really that bad, but this is my job, our job.
Detectives are always running after me but still can't use their handcuffs on me because they have no proof that I am the one who killed every person they'll found lifeless. Though, it's really me but not literally me, because that's my men's doing. I have never killed any person in general but I can, I just don't have the chance to do it as my friends won't allow me.
I'm their boss, but also their friend. I'm their boss when we are in work, but I'm their friend outside work. Y'all can call us the bad guys, and we don't give a single f**k, because for us.
If you borrowed money from a mafia, you should pay it back or else, we will take your life and call it even.
