Chapter Four... Dragon Ritual

1217 Words
*Drake POV* The next morning I got up quickly and got dressed. I went straight to my father's castle and barged into his office without knocking. "Drake? What's the meaning of this?" growls my father with annoyance. "What the f**k does our family have to do with dragons? Why did I have a dream last night about the voice of some girl talking to a... dragon? Then he only showed me his huge purple eyes and told me that it was time to learn about my family and dragons. WHAT THE f**k?" I asked panicking but then suddenly screamed angrily at the end. My father inhaled sharply and his eyes got wide with shock. "Impossible! You haven't even found your mate." My father looks at my mother and she just sighs roughly then gets up and leaves. "Why is she leaving? What's going on?" I asked hesitantly. My father sighs dejectedly then gets up and stalks toward me. I back up somewhat, but before I can understand what his intentions are my father punches me square in the jaw, and then everything goes black. * * * * * * * * * * * * * I groan inwardly and wince with pain. What the f**k just happened? "Drake. It is time to learn about your heritage and see if your destiny is molding to your spirit." my father's voice says. I open my eyes and notice my father is wearing a black robe standing to the side of me. When I look around I notice we are outside on some kind of ritual grounds, then I notice that I am chained to a stone bed in the middle of the stoned area and I am completely naked. "What is the meaning of this father? Release me." I gritted out angrily. "I am afraid I can not do that son. For centuries our kind has been ruling the lands and protecting all humanity, but the human race got greedy and decided to form groups together and try to end us. They figured if they could destroy our kind that they could rule over us and control us to do their bidding. They wanted to take over the world and take all of our treasures and use our blood and scales for magic. We tried but in the end, they found ways to overpower us. Those of us who were left fled into hiding and kept our true forms a secret. Our God Bahamut, himself, wanted to protect us from being completely annihilated, so we were detached from our spiritual side and the only way we can ever connect with ourselves ever again is to find our true mate. They are the ones who carry our spiritual souls within them. Bahamut wanted to prove to humans and our kind that we could live together harmoniously so he made our true mates human." my father tells me calmly. I looked at him like he was losing his f*****g mind. "Do you hear yourself, father? What kind of witchcraft was placed upon you? Bahamut? That is a mythical Dragon." I chuckle lightly. My father just looks at me with a deadly calmness and suddenly before my eyes, my father transformed into the biggest Dragon I had ever seen. He was black as night with the reddest eyes. The scales shined in the light of the fire and the spikes that covered his body looked sharp as a needle. He had wings that spread out bigger than the castle. He had talons larger than two of me put together. His head was huge and his eyes glared down at me. I gulped loudly. The Dragon leaned its head down towards me and growled dangerously low. "Do you believe your father now?" growls the Dragon. I nodded my head frantically. He chuckled loudly and the whole ground trembled. He lifted his talon and sliced my stomach. I groaned in pain and watched as he bit into the underside of his arm and moved it over my body and his blood began dripping over my face and stomach. I screamed from the sudden pain and burning sensation, but within seconds I started getting visions floating through my head. They were memories of my father and mother. Then I began seeing the whole history of dragons running like a movie in my head. I saw every single dragon that had ever been, suddenly I felt like a piece of myself was missing and I desperately wanted to find it. I searched through my visions for the dragon eyes I saw in my dreams last night, but I kept coming up empty-handed. My father's dragon began the ritual and roared at Bahamut for a blessing upon my arrival. Then opened his jaw and came close and bit down on my whole body. I felt his venom enter my body and my body began shaking uncontrollably and I arched my back in pain as I screamed out. "Soon the venom will subside and the pain will be no more. We must prepare you for your dragon and your mate. Only then will you be truly ready to begin your training. Your dragon will never fully join you until he knows that you can handle everything and that your mate is by your side. Once you claim your mate, there will be a time when you will have to mark her, then your dragon will have to mark her, and finally, your souls will combine together. Only then will you be able to shift to your truest form. What is your dragon's name?" my father's dragon explained as I screamed in pain. I could hear everything he said clearly as if he was right next to my ear. I couldn't concentrate on anything but the pain. I searched my mind and remembered my dream. "Grothet. The human female was calling him Grothet." I groaned out. My father's dragon inhaled sharply and then looked down at me with a surprised expression. "Did you just say Grothet?" I attempted to nod my head, "Did you see this human in your dream?" I shook my head. "No, I only heard her call to the dragon and he answered her. They had a conversation and she acted as if she had known him forever. She didn't seem afraid or anything." I whispered out painfully. "Interesting. I have only heard of that, but never knew it could actually happen," he said with awe. "Heard about what?" I asked hesitantly. "Your dragon called out to his mate and she answered back. She more than likely has come face to face with your dragon in her dreams and she has formed a bond with him. He told her his name. No dragon will tell his human his name until he actually shifts for the first time. She is the only human in the last one thousand two hundred years who have ever been able to do this since the first human mate. She is the only one who knows exactly what your dragon looks like. Which means that she has something very special and rare. You must find this mate of yours before she is placed in the hands of the enemy." my father's dragon said before he shifted back to my father.
