Only a handful of minutes passed after Jacob left him.
Ezekiel spent that precious time simply pleading with his leopard to give him strength, as Jacobs's footsteps grew further away. As Brandon was taken further from him.
But his body had nothing to give. It was too busy healing his many hurts and his leopard was gone. Lost in a fog of pain and exhaustion. It would return, but not anytime soon.
Brandon was slipping through his fingers, back to that horrible place that he had escaped from, back to his horrible mysterious past.
