~Iris purple stare~

2358 Words
Ariel stood by the door leading to Airen's room and watched him sleep. He noticed Airen was having a nightmare as he was crying and calling out Mildred's name. He kept turning about on the bed. He felt a significant empathy for him and couldn't help but imagine the amount of pain and suffering that Airen had gone through in these last few days. Not only that, but he was here in an unknown town, setting out to find out his real identity with nothing but the help of his sister, who only knew a fraction of whom he really was and was still as much a kid as he was. How was he going to handle the pain that would come with his real identity? What would become of Airen and his birth mother once the truth was revealed? Would he be able to forgive his birth mother for giving him up without putting up a fight to save him? Would he be willing to fight for his rightful place against Zephyr? Ariel reflected as he watched him struggle in his sleep.  “Where is he?”, Efe asked as soon as she entered the room. Ariel pointed her to where Airen was sleeping. She rushed into the room and sat beside him, placing her hand on his forehead to check for his temperature. “Oh, goddess. He is burning up Ariel”, she informed her brother. She called her trusted maid Elyria, who came with her and asked her to get a specific potion for her. The maid rushed out to get it and while they waited for the maid, Efe pulled out a needle from her hair and poked a tiny hole in Airen's thumb, making a blood clot. She intoned some spells to help get rid of his nightmare while she was on it. Elyria returned with a bottle of potion in her hands. “Here you go, high priestess”, Elyria, handed her the potion. Efe took the potion from her and opened it. She called for Ariel to assist her with Airen. Ariel sat down on the bed and put Airen's head on his lap. That way, Efe would give him the potion with ease.  “Shush, it's okay boy, you are safe now”, Efe comforted him with her words as she gave him the potion. Airen coughed out as soon as he had drunk the potion subconsciously.  “That should calm him down and help him sleep peacefully”, Efe revealed when she was done giving him the potion. She and Ariel left Airen's bedroom and went down to the sitting area in Ariel's cabin. Ariel handed her a bowl of water to wash her hands and a towel to dry it off.  “Thank you Brother”, Efe recognized Ariel's thoughtful gesture. She took the bowl from him and washed her hands, then wiped it with the towel he handed to her. “We can't give him the antidote to the potion he has been taking to suppress his wolf”, Ariel shared his concern with his sister, but she asked him to stop talking. Ariel was worried about Airen's health. With how he was struggling in his sleep, he felt Airen wouldn't be able to handle the antidote to help release his wolf. “Elyria, that's all for now, you may leave now”, Efe said to her maid.  “As her high Priestess wishes”, Elyria bowed her head in respect before leaving the presence of the siblings. After Elyria leaves, Efe casts a spell, soundproofing the room to stop outsiders from listening to her and Ariel's conversation. “You have to be careful with what you say, Ariel. There are a lot of spies disguised as friends”, Efe cautioned him. “I'm sorry, I allowed my emotions to get ahead of me. I won't cause such negligence again”. Ariel quickly atoned for his mistake and made corrections. “He can take the antidote, you just have to find a way to give it to him without him finding out”, Efe responded calmly. “Okay, then I will work out something. But shouldn't we tell him the truth?”, Ariel inquired of his sister. “No, it is godmother's truth to tell and not ours. I will inform her of the new developments. You just make sure that he takes the antidote. The sooner, the better, and watch him closely we don't know the kind of abilities he possesses”, Efe stood up from where she was sitting and walked over to Ariel, kissed him on his cheek and bid him goodnight before leaving. “Oh, goddess, you have to help me with this one”, Ariel heaved deeply as he walked into his room. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤  Airen woke up the next morning, sprawling his arms as he yawned, rubbing his heavy eyes. He turned to his side and saw the potion bottle lying around on the floor. He sat upright on the bed, picked up the bottle, and smelled it. How had that gotten there? He wondered as he scuffed the back of his head. His thoughts were interrupted when Ariel walked in and tossed a phone at him. Airen grabbed it and looked at it. His eyes traveled from the phone he was grabbing to Ariel, who was standing at his door. “What is this for?”, Airen asked, dumbfounded.  “Whatever is a phone used for?”, Ariel replied in disbelief, baffled at his mentee's question. “Uhm mm…communication”, Airen answered. Ariel rolled his eyes at him and hissed. He turned around and informed Airen he had fifteen minutes left to get ready and be at the task hall.  “But…”, before Airen could finish his statement, Ariel was no longer in sight.  Airen sighed and rolled out of his bed sluggishly. The young lad was already weak even before his day started. If only he had known that this was how burdensome it would be, he would have looked for another way to find the truth instead of infiltrating the conquest. He entered the washroom and adjusted the showerhead, he went under and allowed the warm water to race down his skin as he planned how his day would go in his head. He knew he had to come up with a plan to get himself and Gamma Ashley alone in a room, so he could ask him the questions that he needed to ask and get answers or anything that could help him navigate this new identity.  He turned off the shower once he was done and pulled out a towel from the rack in the bathroom. As he wiped his body, he grunted out in discomfort when he felt a sharp pain in his left thumb. He took a look at it and pondered how he had hurt his left thumb. “How did I get hurt?”, He shrugged his shoulders and thought it wasn't that serious. He had probably hurt himself while he was sleeping.  He wrapped the towel around his abdomen and walked out of the bathroom, making his way to his room. Furthermore, he opened the bag given to him last night at the task hall by Ariel and took out the clothes kept for him. It was black combat pants and a black shirt with a band that had the exact colors as the bag given to him. He put on the clothes and used the band on his head, putting his hair in a low bun.  “Fresh!”, Airen showered himself with praise as he looked at himself in the vanity mirror. He took a deep breath and muttered to himself that he was going to do well at the day's task before leaving the room. As he walked down the hallway that led to the task hall, everyone stopped what they were doing or stopped moving to turn and stare at the handsome boy, intrigued by his beauty and his captivating smell that enticed all of them into staring dreamily at Arien. As Airen entered the hall, he noticed all eyes were on him and the females couldn't stop mumbling among themselves as they continued to stare at him, which made Airen a bit uncomfortable. “Lo, is there something on my face? Why are they all staring at me?”, Airen asked as he got to where Lola and Decker were standing. “And good morning to you too”, Lola said, calling out Airen's rude manners. “I am sorry”, he apologized to both of them. “Why is there a frown on your face?", Airen asked Decker, whose eyes were flinging daggers at him. “You ran off last night while I was talking about the prophecy, you didn't allow me to finish”, Decker revealed the reason behind his frown. “Because you were saying gibberish. How did you conclude that I was the said Alpha in the prophecy? I don't even have a last name”, Airen scoffed as he pointed out Decker's absurdness.  “Believe it or not, Airen, but I have a gut feeling that you are the Alpha”, Decker refused to back down from his words.  “Shush, Zara is here”, Lola brought to their attention. Decker and Airen kept shut and directed their attention to Zara, who was standing in front of everyone.  Zara's stare did the talking even without her uttering a single word, there was the utmost silence in the hall with everyone directing their attention at her. She surveyed every one of them intently before she began her speech. As she was about to speak, Zeke ran into the hall, interrupting her. She looked at him from his head to his toes and scoffed. “This isn't your pack! This isn't your home! This isn't your mother's room! This is my task hall and my rules should be abided by”, Zara declared with so much authority. “Everyone ought to be in the hall at exactly 7:30 and not a second later, whoever is late will be severely punished along with their dorm mates”, Zara turned over to Zeke and called him out. “You, what is your dorm number?”, She questioned. “Dorm three, Miss Zara”, Zeke responded. “Those in dorm three, please come forward”, Zara stated. “Why?”, they murmured among themselves as they trudged out. Lola and Decker were also a part of them as well. “Omegas, it seems you all have got yourselves a day off”, Zara grinned at them.  “What?!”, Zeke opened his mouth in disbelief. “What? Do you want to run to Mommy and complain to her?”, Zara asked, her voice dripping with poisonous honey. She was enjoying every moment of despair Zeke was going through.  “No”, Zeke said with his teeth gritted. “Good. You all have to make sure my dormitories, my task hall, and every area in this Arena is as clean as a slate”, Zara said. “What about our task for the day?”, Lola asked. “Halfie, you will do your task and also serve your punishment”, Zara said with a straight face. “Now, get down to the dining hall for your meal and be back here in thirty minutes for your task for the day”, Zara ordered as she left their presence and everyone started murmuring. “Why did I have to share a dorm with you?”, Decker growled at Zeke.  “You should be happy that you are sharing my dorm with me”, Zeke retorted. “Ugh, you pigdog”, Decker grunted and curled his fist.  “Decker”, Lola held him and told him to calm down. Decker gave in to her request and loosened his fist. They turned around and were about to walk to the dining hall when Zeke made a disrespectful comment to Lola. “There she goes again, fuckin w***e”, Zeke spat on the floor and everyone started laughing at Lola, even Zeke. Airen's mood immediately darkened as soon as he heard Zeke's comment, and it only worsened as the others began to laugh too. He turned back around in anger and headed for Zeke. “You fxcking swine. I will not have you disrespect my sister”, Airen threw a punch at him, and in a split second, the two started fighting.  There was a flurry of punches and shouting from Lola for Airen to stop, while the others cheered for them to continue, hailing the boys. Alpha Ariel walked into the hall and headed for the two boys. He grabbed them easily and tore them apart, ending the fight in a second. But, Airen was still furious with Zeke and had not completely gotten rid of his anger, so when he suddenly found Zeke out of reach, he growled into the air and his eyes immediately changed colors. The growl was a scary, loud, resonating sound that froze everyone as he pushed himself out of Ariel's hold and attempted to grab Zeke. Everyone immediately caught his eyes, which had changed into an iris purple color, shocking everyone in the room, including Lola and Ariel along with the other Alphas in the room. Except for Efe, who watched the display with a little smile on her face. She had known he was strong, but damn she was f*****g impressed.
