The day just keeps getting better and better. I groaned.
"What?" Cody asked, a confused expression on his face.
After a moment of hesitation, I opened my mouth. "Nothing," I said, sighing. I can't really deny my new boss of his first request. A fake smile pasted itself on my face. "So, where would you like to have lunch?"
"How about..." he said, looking at his watch. "I know... how about the Japanese restaurant?"
"I'm fine with anything really." It was the truth. Anything and anywhere would be fine. We could be eating by the Dumpster and I would have been glad as soon as the ordeal was over.
"That's not exactly convincing," he said, looking at me. "But alright. Let's go to the Japanese restaurant then."
