Saying that everything felt awkward was a massive understatement.
After Cody had had his 'talk' with Rye, he had emerged out of the CEO's office with a calm expression on his face. It was as though he wasn't bothered by anything at all.
"Is everything alright, Sir?" I asked him as he made his way back to his department. There was a strain in the way his lips were stretched, but he was smiling at me nonetheless.
"Everything is fine, my dear," said Cody in his best reassuring tone. "You don't have to worry about anything."
I doubted it. "So, you mean to say that you're fine with my sudden transfer back to the Executive Department?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. I set down the box filled with documents on my desk and placed my hands on my hips.
