I carried the little creature in my arms, making sure that it wouldn't get hurt or slip away. Two long white ears popped out from the sweater I had wrapped around it. I looked down on the fluffy white ball with a smile. Avery was going to like this little fella. The rabbit twitched its small pink nose and kept staring back at me with curious eyes.
"Don't worry, little man," I said. "I won't eat you."
I walked into the house and went straight to the bedroom. The light was off, leaving only a faint glow of the moon through the window. Avery must have been tired of waiting for me. I felt bad for having to leave her alone for too long.
Maybe a fluffy pet would make her forgive me.
I walked towards the bed and saw my beloved girl lying there. A smile stretched across my face
