Shiva and Shakti are the divine union of a masculine deity and a feminine Goddess. If Shiva is represents the immanent and frigid elements of the universe, then Shakti is the dynamic force to create life inside it.
"If Shiva is united with Shakti, he is able to create. If he is not, he is incapable even of stirring."
~Saundarya Lahari
Together these two mythological characters represent the relation between two forms of human, one is man and another is woman. If man is the embodiment of physical strength to dominate, then woman has the potency to create and nurture life. They are equal without any kind of superiority.
But is this are still true in today's society, where in every hour a woman is tortured to fulfil some one's monstrous need. Crime against women increased in a rapid rate every year and all these mythological beliefs seems to be meaningless.
The feminism is not about equality, but a demand to be equal. We consider the physical abuses as t*****e but ignored those verbal comments that teae one's heart apart.
