Chapter 3 Hanson shuffled off toward the bathing room at the back of the house. Beneath his bare feet, the stone floor felt cool and slick. The air against his unprotected skin drifted like a flurry of tiny hands skating over his body, ticklish, shivery, and exciting. When they’d made the fast tour around Holzy’s house, Hanson barely peeked into the bathing room. He had felt—mistakenly it turned out—he’d have little need for or interest in such a facility. Now he halted in the doorway. The room looked very bland—walls of some smooth shiny stuff, almost glassy, that seemed to emit light from an inner glow.
