The next two days proceeded without incident and Sam began to relax. He hadn’t left Joel’s side for more than a few minutes. Joel’s stalker did not send any messages and did not attack again.
They ventured out only to the gym and to the club to dance. They kept a close eye on their surroundings to be sure no one followed them.
“I can’t imagine who of our neighbors could be stalking you,” Sam said as they headed to the City, the second night after the attack on Joel. “We don’t really know any of the people I’ve seen in our building, and none of them have shown up at the City.”
“I don’t think I’d recognize any of our neighbors,” Joel said. “So if you can say you haven’t seen them watch us dance, I’ll have to take your word for it.”
