When Sofia woke up, she felt strange. When she opened her eyes, she noticed a spotless, white environment. She was in a hospital!

Quickly the image of Freddy came to her mind and she quickly reached for her phone to check the time.

The clock read 5pm. She was supposed to meet Freddy an hour ago! Thinking about it, she was about to dial Freddy's number to explain what had happened.

But, before she could do so, the cubicle curtain was drawn and a young looking nurse came in.

"Good afternoon, Miss, how are you feeling? "

"I...I'm fine, what happened?"

"You were brought here by some neighbours, You fainted in your flat. The doctor examined you and the fainting was due to a nutrient deficiency. You should eat better, after all the first few months of pregnancy are always the most important for the baby's development" said the nurse as she gave Sofia an IV.

From one moment to the next, Sofia's full attention was focused on those last words "Pregnancy? "

"Oh, I didn't know? Miss, you're pregnant! You'd better come with your partner for a prenatal exam" replied the nurse.

Sofia was completely stunned by the news. That was f*****g unexpected. It was as if her "heart had stopped.

Sofia had no idea what to do next, but telling Freddy wasn't in the near future.

Without a word, Sofia left the cubicle and quickly made her way to the obstetrics department. The wait was the worst torture for her, but she needed proof that this was really happening.

"Miss Marswell, you are one month pregnant, and everything is fine, however, I see that you have suffered an abruption and were not attended to properly. Thatcaused some problems in your uterus. So this pregnancy must be fully monitored or you could lose the baby" said the doctor with a serious tone.

"But what if I don't want the child, can I abort it?" she asked confused.

When the doctor heard that, her eyes got totally wide. she didn't expect to hear that. "You can do it, but, I recommend that you think about it. In your situation, it is very difficult to get pregnant again. I'm afraid that if you have an abortion you won't be able to..."

"I won't be able to get pregnant any more?" said Sofia complementing the doctor's words.

"It's not 100% sure, but, it's a very big chance that it won't happen again" answered the woman slowly lowering her glasses.

Sofia was drowning in thought. She didn't know what the f**k to do now, she was in the middle of a divorce! A baby would be unethical now!

At Sofia's silence, the doctor sighed and stared into her eyes, "Miss Marswell, think things over. if you decide to go ahead with the abortion, you can come here in 10 days and we'll start the abortion process."

Nodding, Sofia thanked the woman and quietly left the consultant. She had no idea what to say to Freddy. But, the idea of doing so was completely absurd.

She knows Freddy, and he would believe that this pregnancy was part of her game. Besides, Sofia knew that Freddy hated that baby, he would even accuse her of cheating.

On the way home, Sofia couldn't stop thinking about how that happened. She was supposed to take care of herself with pills, had she forgotten to take one?

In the evening the flat was dark when Melanie arrived and turned on the light to find Sofia lying on the couch with her eyes closed and a white spot covering her limp body.

Melanie sat down next to Sofia and sighed, "Are you asleep?"

Hearing her best friend's sweet voice, Sofia slowly opened her eyes and looked sadly at her "Melanie... I'm pregnant".

Melanie's expression immediately became intriguing "That's... That's good news!" However, after saying that, she was confused for a few seconds and reconsidered "Wait a minute... it's Freddy's... it's Freddy's?"

In that instant Sofia closed her eyes and a loud sigh sounded, she remembered that pregnancy 4 years ago. She had lost that baby!

At that moment she felt her world slowly fading away, and that feeling was something she never wanted to experience again.

As Melanie noticed Sofia's confused expression, she tried to change the subject. "Well, let's talk about that later. I have some good news... Buyers have complimented the collection at this event. When you go on the global market they will be the best selling products! You just need to make the jewellery, do you think 10 days is enough time to do it?"

"That's great! In 5 days I will have the jewellery ready!" Sofia said with an active joy.

"Perfect, there's only one problem... You are pregnant now, won't the smells from the factory make the baby sick?" added Melanie worriedly.

Smiling bitterly, Sofia asked her friend to be unconcerned. After all, if she didn't do that, things wouldn't be as perfect as she wanted them to be.

After dinner, Sofia went upstairs to take a shower, but on the way out she remembered that she had missed her divorce appointment, so thinking about it, she picked up her phone and dialed Freddy.

"Mr. Spark is with me now. Have some dignity and stop bothering him!" Diana's pretentious voice was heard on the end of the phone.

Hearing it, Sofia smiled with a slight laugh and hung up...

Meanwhile, when Freddy returned to the room, he noticed that his phone was in Diana's hands. Seeing it, Diana quickly tried to hide the phone behind her back, but Freddy's cold gaze landed on her prematurely.

"Who called? "

"Nobody" said Diana with a suspicious tone.

"Okay, Sofia called you, asking where you are. But, I know you don't want to see her, so I got rid of her," said Diana in a low voice.

Without saying anything, Freddy sighed dryly and put his phone in his pocket. At that moment one of his associates approached and with a bottle in his hand smiled cheerfully.

"We are ready, Mr. Spark, I have booked the room at the retriever club, we are going to have fun today," said the man with a semi-drunken tone.

"Miss Diana will be your escort tonight. I'll be busy. Have fun!"

Hearing that, Diana quickly turned her gaze back and looked at Freddy with surprise. Was he treating her like a prostitute? Freddy would use her to close a deal with the partner?
