Right after breakfast, Patrick excused himself. He apologized to both his parents for what he had said at the dining table before. His father kept persuading him to stay with the engagement for another month. Patrick was reluctant with the idea, but considering that his parents would be the ones who deal with the Jackson later, he concurred with it for his father's sake.
