As I blinked back to consciousness, I found myself trapped in a cold, damp cell, my legs bound by chains that seared my skin with a painful burn. The discomfort of the metal biting into my flesh was a strange comfort compared to the agony of whatever substance coated the chains. I was utterly lost, with no idea of my captor's identity or intentions. The only option left was to wait for the one who had taken me. Soon enough, I heard the ominous sound of footsteps approaching my cell, signaling that my captor was eager to confront me. I straightened up, adrenaline coursing through me, ready to fight if necessary. But as the presence drew closer, a wave of dread washed over me. My wolf, usually fierce and protective, whimpered in fear and retreated deep within me, leaving my body trembling
