Our class was dismissed early. Most of our teacher just handed us our subject syllabus.
Gio and I are now inside the library. We’re currently seated in the middle. Of the library. Near the bookshelves are resided.
We came here immediately because he was looking for a novel he wanted to read again. There are also popular romantic novels available here. This library is not just for studying, its also a great place for someone who loves to read a romantic novel.
I was busy reading when I felt my phone vibrate inside my skirt pocket.
I looked at my cellphone and saw a message from Nick. I immediately open it.
From Nick:
Where are you? Done with the meeting with my teammates.
I reply quickly.
To Nick:
I'm at the library with Gio. Are we going to the house now?
I looked at Gio and I saw him still hooked by the novel his reading. He even smiling while reading.
I glance back at my phone when it vibrates again.
From Nick:
I hope so but if you’re still busy I can wait for you? I can go there if you want to. I’ll wait for you until you’re done.
Ghad! He’s so thoughtful. I bit my lower lip.
To Nick:
No need. It’s okay! I’m done here.
From Nick:
Ok. See you. Let’s meet in the parking area. :)
I put back my phone inside my uniform pocket.
"Gio, I need to go," I told gio.
Gio looked at his wristwatch. "Was your driver already here? He’s too early fetch you today."
I shook my head. "No! I already text Mr. Pitong to don’t fetch me today"
Confusion marred in Gio’s face. "Then why are you leaving so early...?" He raised an eyebrow to me. He went silent for a moment before continuing. “Don’t tell me you have a date?”
I chuckled. "You really are crazy! I don’t have a date. I just need to go and meet in-nick in the parking area."
Gio's eyes widen and slapped my shoulder softly.
"What?!... why? Maybe you and Nick are going on a date." He said teasing me.
I gasped and shook my head. "What? No! We’re not going on a date. He just going to take me to their house because his mom wants to see. Don’t be malicious Gio."
Gio laughed. “Don’t be defensive. Ha ha ha ha! " and he laughed again.
The librarian came to us and told us to be quiet.
"You’re too loud gio," I smirk.
Gio pouted and start to speak again in a whispering way.
"Just go cath! Go and meet your prince charming in the parking area. Just don’t forget to tell me about it tomorrow. Alright?" he said while waving his hand telling me to go.
I stand up and went out of the library.
While walking, I feel nervous about getting close to the parking area. I don’t why I feel something is about to happen today.
I'm not really comfortable being alone with him, I'm afraid that I will not be able to control my feelings for him while he's around. I'm not ready to be rejected.
A lot of people telling that beautiful but I'm still conscious that he might reject me.
I was busy thinking about him when I reached the school parking lot, I looked around and saw him leaning on his car door while talking to one of his close friends, Damien. Damien is also a senior.
"Hi, Cath!" Damien greeted me.
I smiled at him. "Hello Damien" I greeted him too.
He stared at me sternly and I feel uncomfortable because of it.
I did a faking cough to stop him staring at me.
He devilishly smiles at me. "How are you? It’s been a long time since a saw you." He said and walked closer to me. He was about to hug me when Nick blocked him.
“Don’t you dare!” nick said.
Damien chuckled. "Come on bro. It's just a hug.”
Nick didn’t answer him. I think he's mad at something, he’s in a bad mood.
Damien heaved a deep sighed. He stepped backward and laughed while shaking his head.
"Damn bro! You’re so f*****g whipped." Damien smirk. "I'll go ahead. Good luck with that bro." then he looked at me. "Till next time Cath and don’t make it too hard for Nick." I don’t know what is he talking about.
Damien left and went to his car. I didn’t even get a chance to ask him about what he said. I don’t really know what he meant.
Don’t make it too hard for Nick.
Why did he say that? Am I doing something bad to nick?
"Let’s go!" Nick said taking me back to my senses.
Nick open his car and went inside.
Silence reigned in the car.
I can’t speak because Nick's jaw tightened as he drove. I saw his gripping his hand too tight at his car steering wheel. I can sense his mad or angry that’s why I decided to shut up.
I decided to look at the window to take away this uncomfortable feeling.
"Cath?" he called.
"Hmmm Yes?" I looked at him.
"Do you like him?" he asked. What is he talking about?
Confusion marred in my forehead. "Him?" I asked him back.
"Damien?”
Huh?
"What about him? I didn’t get what you mean." I frankly said.
He tsked. "I mean, do you like Damien?"
My eyes widen.
"Wait-what? Damien, No. Yes, I like him as a friend but not as a man" I was really surprised about his question. I don't know why he thought of that. Am I giving a motive to his friend for him to think something like that? "Why are you asking me questions like that?"
I saw him shrugged his shoulder "I just want to know" his eyes still looking on the road.
"Okay!”
We went silent again but he starts to speak again.
"Do you like someone as a ‘man’?"
My heartbeat fast. I don't know what to say. What’s with him today?
"What?" I feel really nervous right now and it making me more nervous because he was staring at me like a hawk. He’s waiting for my answer.
What to do? What to answer? Should I confess everything now? I can’t lie to him.
I stared into his eyes. I nodded in response to his question.
"Who?" it’s getting harder for me.
"Don't you think your question is too personal?" I tried to dodge his question by another question.
"I don’t care... just answer my question" I can feel he’s starting to get annoyed.
I don’t know if this is the right time to tell him my feelings for him. But I can’t really control what I’m feeling right now. "Uhm- it's --'' I was about to say "you" when we heard the car honk of the car behind us. He starts to drive again.
Ghad! That was close.
