With that being said, Max grabbed Juno’s collar and bring his body to the edge of the rooftop.

“So, do you need help to make your brain works better in remembering things and cooperate with me?”

“Ugh, how can you do this? You’re a hero!”

“Well, I am only doing this to make you realize that I am here on a mission and not to play around. When I visit the tavern earlier, do you think I am there on a sightseeing trip? Not to mention I know that you’ve been playing around with drugs around the area. The authority might haven’t sniff you out since you got some backings, but if I eliminate you here and now, won’t it make the problem of worrying about evidence and such disappear?”

Max is threatening Juno as if he is the villain. This isn’t the first time Juno is being threatened but the moment he feels a chill when Max said he would eliminate him, he knows that Max isn’t joking at all.

“But, so many people see you today. There’s even a security camera at the entrance of the tavern. Aren’t you afraid to get your license revoked?”

“Oh, I am sure my friend back at the base will take care of that for me. although I am a newcomer hero this year, I got a reliable support team from back home. By now, I believe all trace has been removed and who would believe the confession of local ruffians like your subordinates? I can say later that it was all a plot to eliminate a promising hero like myself. The villains don’t want a rising star like me to shine and planned to nip me in the bud.”

Hearing Max’s speech, even Marie who is listening through the intercom is speechless. The fluency when Max said all of that seems like it wasn’t the first time he is doing all of this. Even Juno feel flabbergasted hearing that. Juno never seen such a shameless hero all through his career as a gang head.

“So, do you want to cooperate or not?”

“Y-y-yes, I’ll cooperate.”

“Well, it’s a pleasure speaking to a cultured man.”

Max then throws Juno’s body back to the roof. However, he isn’t planning to let his guard down in case Juno managed to run away. He summoned wind bullets around him and let it hover while aiming at Juno.

Seeing Max’s precaution moves, Juno can only smiled bitterly. Thinking to himself: “Does he really need to go so far?”

“Okay, I only have a few questions and if you cooperate, we could finish this under ten minutes. First up, I’m looking for a man called Blur. Do you know him?”

The moment Max mentioned Blur, Juno’s expression changed. Max also knows that he hit the bull’s eye this time since it seemed that Juno knows something about him.

“Before I answer that, let me ask first. Why are you looking for him?”

“Isn’t that obvious? I’m going to meet him and have a talk with him.”

“Okay, after all Blur has been a sore thumb for the people in this area. We didn’t know his reason but he come here two months ago. After that, he always dropped by regularly to the tavern. As for his location right now, I doubt anyone knows where he is. I tried asking my men to follow him several times but he just disappeared the moment he walks out of the tavern. You know it better since his ability is having something to do with his name, ‘blur’.”

“When is the last time he is seen coming to the tavern?”

“One week ago. I believe he will come tonight or within three days at the latest.”

“What does he do when he visits the tavern?”

“Nothing much, he just drinks and have fun. I even doubt that he is a D-rank villain after seeing that.”

Thinking about that, Max knows that it will be hard for him to trace Blur back. After all, his ability has something to do with camouflaging, or optical illusion. Tracking him through the security camera won’t bring him anywhere. The best course of action to take right now is waiting for Blur himself to visit the tavern.

“Hmm. I don’t have all day to wait for him to show up. If I give you my number, can you call me if you saw Blur coming to the tavern?”

“O-of course. Giving you a call is hardly difficult at all.”

Max then gives him the number to the office which is connected to Marie. It will be more efficient to have Marie confirm the situation using the security camera first before deciding to come or not.

“Okay, one last question. You managed to escape the investigation regarding the case involving the drug dealer. Tell me, who is your insider?”

Hearing that question, Juno seemed to be quiet. It was as if he rather dies than answering that.

“Why are you not replying? Is there a problem?”

“Well, if I didn’t answer, you might kill me. But, if I answer that question, not only me, my men and their families might be buried along with our corpses.”

“What if I can guarantee your safety and catch the person before he or she could do anything?”

Even after hearing Max’s offer, Juno shook his head.

“It’s not that I trust you, it’s just I don’t dare to take that risk.”

Hearing that answer, Max frowned. It seemed that the people that is involved in the drug cartel is harder to handle. He thinks he could get some extra achievements from this but it isn’t the case at all.

“Not even a clue?”

Hearing Max keep pushing for answer and the wind bullets that is swirling even faster, Juno frowned. He is in a deep dilemma since he himself want to get away from the drug business. The risk isn’t worth the money and the people involved is like a guillotine’s blade above his neck.

“Well, the only clue I can give you is that the enemy is closer than you think.”

Max pondered a bit about what Juno told him but he couldn’t believe it the moment he realized the meaning behind it.

“Could it be, the association?”

Juno nodded but he won’t say anything more. That’s as far as he could go.

“Alright then, you can leave. Remember to call me the moment Blur shows up.”

Max dismissed his wind bullets and jumped from the rooftop. Leaving Juno behind who is relieved that he managed to keep his life today and drenched in sweat. The longer someone has been living, the more he cherishes his life.
