Yann and Bonio

“Max, listen to me. I couldn’t do anything to protect you. The pressure I felt from them, not to mention they managed to set us up. I am afraid that they are at least two ranks higher than me. They should be B rank at least, but I believe they are closer to A rank.”

“Yuna, I mentioned it before. You could just abandon me if you could escape alone.”

“I believe that I won’t be able to escape from this place since they managed to trap us without us knowing either.”

As Yuna and Max discussed among themselves, Bonio and Yann seemed to be relaxed and let Yuna and Max take their time.

“Have you guys finished talking? If not, we can wait since this will be your last chat with each other? How about kissing each other?”

“Yann, why do you always be so playful? Can we just get it over and go back home? I didn’t feel well sleeping at the motel last night.”

“Well, if you say so. I will take care of the girl, and you take care of the boy.”

“You realize that the boy seemed like a normal person, right? Why don’t you take care of both of them and let me sleep while waiting?”

“Nah, I’m a little bit picky about my prey. Not to mention this girl seemed to be fiery enough, so I want to enjoy my time with her. So you need to take care of the boy.”

“Alright, then. I guess I will have to deal with sleep deprivation today.”

Yuna and Max, of course, heard what they have been discussing since they didn’t speak in a low volume as if they are letting them know on purpose. Yuna feels a bit tense since she knows that the person that she will be facing is stronger than the one facing Max. not to mention that she faintly feels that the man named Yann have a water-based superpower which is the bane of a fire-based superpower if their rank is the same or below. Only when someone’s superpower element greatly surpassed the enemy, then they could ignore the natural element suppression.

Water beats fire, fire beats metal, metal beats wood, wood beats earth, and earth beats water, just like basic feng shui of five elements. Some super powers are out of this cycle, like lightning, wind, and many more that considered as unique.

Yuna looked at Bonio and tried to give Max some hints, but she didn’t know whether it would be helpful.

“Max, the man, named Bonio that you will be facing. I think his power has something to do with wind.”

Hearing that, Yann makes a whistling noise with his mouth.

“*fweet* look here, Bonio, she is able to guess your power. I bet she might have already guessed mine too. Well, it doesn’t matter much, though. However, I am curious just how high her sensitivity is? To be able to detect the imprint that we put on her and erase it, not to mention guessing our superpower, I believe that she has a really high level of sensitivity.”

“Yann, do you want to change your mind and capture her back?”

“I don’t know. It will depend on her performance later.”

After saying that, Yann relaxedly walked towards Yuna while Bonio is heading towards Max. Max realizes that there will be no way for him to hide his power if he wants to survive in this situation. Even his power only grants him a slight chance of survival in this kind of condition.

“Yuna, I’ll lure the other guy into chasing after me.”

Yuna is surprised at what Max is going to do. Max knows very well that they won’t be bothered to go 2v1 and ganging up on Yuna based on how overconfident these guys are. So he thinks that it is better to run away and find a more advantageous place for him rather than the wide-open space.

The only move that can be said as his weapon is only the wind bullet. Judging that the enemy uses a similar wind-based superpower, whatever tricks he wanted to unleash might be detected by the enemy by sensing the changes in the air. Because of that, he needs to find a smaller and enclosed space that will be more advantageous for him to launch a secret attack. Since this is a closed space that fully replicates reality, the buildings are all accessible, so Max decided to use one of the buildings to execute his strategy.

“That’s the one.”

Max needed to choose a building that he is familiar with, and luckily, not far from where they have their breakfast, there is a social service building where the children of the orphanage used to visit to take care of their welfare-related business.

Although they are being taken care of by the orphanage, they will make reports regularly to ensure that they aren’t being mistreated and that their basic needs are fulfilled without anything missing.

“Boy, don’t run too far. My old bones might not hold out to chase you.”

Bonio, chasing after Max from behind, saw him entering the building and sighed before following him. Thinking that it will be a chore chasing after someone who is struggling to live. Bonio could quickly kill him by using his superpower, but it will eat up more of his superpower instead, and that was precisely what he doesn’t want to happen.

Meanwhile, over where Yuna and Yann are located, Yann is being very playful right now. he didn’t even show any kind of cautiousness towards Yuna at all.

“So, do you want to do it the easy way or the hard way?”

Yann didn’t even consider Yuna as a threat at all. Probably, the thing that causing them to catch Yuna yesterday is due to Yann’s playful nature and Bonio’s lazy ones.

“How about you let me go?”

“No can do. After the effort that we spend to come to this place, not to mention that this is an order from up above. I believe you stick your nose where it shouldn’t and get yourself in muddy water instead.”

Of course, Yuna knows what they are speaking about. It must be about how she tried to investigate about Lindt and Vanya.
