Disqualified

1167 Words
After the first five people that are trying to go against the C-rank robot managed to have one remaining survivor, the four people who fell unconscious on the ground immediately got eliminated. Nobody except the four unconscious people could hear the sound. “Participants 342, 222, 464, and 543 eliminated.” When Elrisa explained about the points needed for the test taker to pass, she didn’t explain to them that they could actually fail the test. So everyone thinks that since it was a test to defeat the robot and rescue the hostage, it was a given that the robot's strength is somehow defeat-able for them as they are of D-rank. There is a factor that they didn’t include in here, and that’s the C-rank robot. It was the trap set by the United Heroes association to make everyone that tried to defeat it failing the test. One of the strengths needed by a hero is to quickly judge the situation and knows your own strength. For these test-takers that aren’t even D-rank yet, to go against a C-rank robot is like going into a suicide mission, and it wasn’t something that the United Heroes association would like to see. They want D-rank heroes that could climb up to A or even S rank later, not D-rank suicide squad. There is no need for someone who overrated their ability and went to fight an enemy that they couldn’t defeat to become a hero. “There’s the C-rank robot!” Oblivious to that, one group after another is coming towards the C-rank robot. “Wait, everyone! The robot is strange.” “What are you saying? If you’re afraid, then go back. We will defeat the robot and pass the test in flying colors.” Soon enough, the people that faced the C-rank robot enjoyed a cold water bath that sends them unconscious. But, of course, not all of the participants are stupid. There are always one or two from a five-men party that managed to escape being swept by the C-rank robot tidal wave and ended up passing the test in a normal way. Not long after, more people managed to pass the test by gathering enough points, and it also includes Max. “participant 777 have passed the test.” As soon as Max finished defeating another D-rank villain robot, Max heard the announcement as his points are already sufficient. Max then followed the instruction and walked towards the safety area. There, he saw the batch of people that have passed the test before him. Giovanni, the first person to pass the test, is sitting leisurely with all of his retainers waiting on the side. It seemed that his retainers also joined the examination and all managed to get enough points as they are all standing beside him. Max also saw Hyacinth, Iki, and Heinrich as they have passed the test earlier than him. Something funny, however, happened when Max arrived there. He saw the five people that he ‘lends’ his hostage to complaining to Elrisa. “What did you say? How can we’re disqualified? We clearly gathered enough points! Isn’t the second test only require us to gather 10 points? Each and every one of us managed to do that, but how can you say that we’re disqualified?” Max saw the point’s robber that is camping near the safety area protesting to Elrisa, and based on what he heard; they got disqualified. “Do you even know the purpose of the second stage of hero examination? Although you didn’t realize it, your every movement on the seaside village is under the surveillance of the United Heroes association. This test is to separate good eggs from bad eggs like you. Did you feel proud of robbing others of their points? Is what you’re doing reflect the action of the heroes? Are you even worthy enough to be called heroes?” What Elrisa just said got an agreement from everyone on the spot that has experienced getting their points stolen from them by the ruffians. They worked so hard to find the villain robot and defeat them. After carrying the hostage, they should get another point, but it was taken from them just in front of the safety area. They couldn’t do anything previously, and some people even got hurt after trying to fight back. “But that’s not our fault! You only say that the requirement is for gathering points. Moreover, it wasn’t us forcing them to hand over the hostage. We talked with them nicely, and I didn’t think I do anything wrong. If they want, they can just fight us. If what you say is true, then do you even need heroes like them that hand over their points to us because they are afraid? You surely don’t need this kind of heroes too, right?” The man that talked to Max previously still didn’t see where he did wrong and still insist that he is correct. Moreover, he is now bringing the people that he extorted earlier by using Elrisa’s reasoning back at her. “I wouldn’t call them afraid of you nor think what they did is cowardly. What they are doing is the correct choice based on the situation. Let me tell you this. If this is not a test and the robots and dummy hostage are real people, isn’t what they are doing the right thing? They didn’t mind handing the hostages to you as they know that the end goal is to bring the hostage to the safety area and have them rescued in the end. They will also be able to find another hostage to save and villains to defeat rather than getting hurt fighting you guys. I must say that they are showing you why they passed the test while you don’t and worthy of being called a hero.” After hearing that, the man who protested seemed to be unable to retort. Not to mention that the people who are being disqualified alongside him are starting to take a step back after hearing Elrisa’s answer. They realized where did they go wrong and already accepted their result. “Tch, bullsh*t!” The man who protested feels frustrated and exploded out, but he forgets where he is and who he is talking to. Elrisa might seem like a cute girl, but she is still a legitimate A-rank hero. Before even getting the chance to do anything, the man already eats the dirt on the ground as his head is being pressed down. After he shouted out loud, Elrisa, who feels that the man is about to take action, makes her move first.
