This is also the first time Max seeing Giovanni’s ability in person. His S-rank speed must have something to do with his light element ability. As in nature, nothing can go faster than light. Max watched the replay again and thought about one important thing. If it was him who goes against Giovanni, what will he do?

This is because Max planned to be the winner of this competition and show his ability to the world. Giovanni is one of those obstacles that he needs to face in order to win. While Max is still thinking about what to do if he faces Giovanni later, the first round has ended, and there have been nineteen other teams that managed to defeat their opponent and bring the hostage back to their base.

“Alright, the first round has ended. So let’s proceed with the second round right away.”

This time, Max’s team is called to participate in the next round. Max, Jhonny, Norton, Linda, and Chloe walked up to the arena.

“Cut the crap. Just protect the hostage and let me do the rest. You see Giovanni just now? I’ll carry you guys like him. Just don’t be a hindrance.”

Before Jhonny could finish his sentence, Chloe already cut him off. Once again, she showed her aloof side. Max and Norton have to hold Jhonny back since he really wanted to give a punch to Chloe. Nevertheless, the four of them decided to discuss their strategy while ignoring Chloe, or it was Chloe that is ignoring them.

For example, Giovanni’s team has only shown two abilities so far. Giovanni’s light ability and the other person who is able to create the mud statue. As for the other three, they might become a secret weapon later on since nobody knows what are their abilities yet.

Right now, Max’s team is doing the same. However, they are not relaxed since they didn’t know how good is Chloe. What if she only talk big but her strength was insufficient? They will need to be ready to back her up since this is a team battle after all.

Max looked at the opponent and saw that the enemy is quickly approaching. It seemed that they have done with their strategy and now going on the offensive. They are quite surprised seeing that nobody moves from Max’s team.

“Captain, what do you think? Nobody moved from their team.”

“Do you think they are trying to copy what Giovanni’s team is doing earlier?”

“Are they looking down on us or they are silly, trying to replicate Giovanni’s feat?”

Max’s opponent doesn’t think much about the strategy that Max’s team is implementing as they are moving forward confidently.

From the beginning of the match, Chloe seemed to be doing something. She is channeling her power as she prepared her move. She didn’t show any movement but Max can feel the disturbance of water elemental power in the area.

When the opponent crossed the line dividing their base and Max’s, Jhonny seemed to be in a panic.

“Max, Norton, Miss Linda, we need to do something. Look at that, the enemy is fast approaching. We can’t leave this in that brat’s hand and do nothing. If we are standing still like this, I believe we will lose. I am not leaving my Olympics fate on her hand.”

Jhonny as the one who is like Chloe the least immediately showed his concern as he didn’t trust Chloe at all. What if their team loses because of this? Max on the other hand is looking at Chloe closely, trying to figure out what kind of move that she is going to pull.

If Max isn’t mistaken, the water dolphin that Chloe summon to gather their team earlier is one of her abilities and it showed how adept she is at manipulating water elements. Seeing the movement of the water elements earlier, he isn’t worried at all.

“Calm down, big brother Jhonny, I know Chloe and she is really capable.”

Norton as the one who is most familiar with Chloe tried to calm him down and his trust is repaid with the result as the next moment the opponent comes near, a surge of water comes forth.

With a movement of Chloe’s right hand, a tidal wave formed behind her and swallowed the enemy like a flood. They definitely didn’t imagine something like this will happened. Earlier they mocked Max’s team as they didn’t believe that there will be a monster in his team that is comparable to Giovanni but they are experiencing it right now.

Max’s opponent tried to defend by using their abilities but the power of the tide is too strong as they are pushed back several meters. When the tide recedes, what is left on the ground is five drenched figures that aren’t able to move anymore due to the water pressure exhausting them and rendering them unconscious.

After that, a water dolphin appeared once more and it circled the opponent’s hostage before it hoisted it on its back and brought it back to Max’s team base.

“Team 999, victory.”

Until the moment that their team is announced as the winner, Jhonny still couldn’t believe what is happening in front of him. He even slapped his own cheek to make sure that he isn’t dreaming.

“Wait, is this real? Our team won?”

Norton who already knows of Chloe’s ability doesn’t show much emotion as he only sighed in relief. Linda is standing there quietly just like Max who is lost in his thoughts. Only Chloe alone, walking out of the arena calmly without waiting for the rest of the team.
