“We will enter the first round of the competition. It will be a 5v5 team battle. Each team will be defending a base with a hostage on it. You will win when you could secure the hostage from the enemy base and bring it back to your base.”

After Elrisa explains the rule, each team immediately discussed it among themselves.

“So, it wasn’t a battle royale. It is a team battle. See, you’re overthinking earlier.”

The man with pompadour looked at the loli with a wronged look. He is suggesting them to introduce themselves earlier, but the loli refused. So right now, after the mission for the first round has been announced, the man with pompadour feeling that he has been mistreated before.

“Since I’m the one who suggested it, I’ll start it. My name is Jhonny the wild. My ability is body enhancement, just like my idol, the S-rank miss Alexandra the great. As for now, I can boost my body to perform five times stronger than normal people.”

The two other members seemed like reasonable people, and they cooperate with him. The first one to introduce himself is a teenager about Max’s age that appeared to be a little naïve. He wears a nice red costume and looked neat.

“My name is Norton Star, my ability is fire elemental, and I’m quite confident in my firepower.”

“Oh, you’re from the Star family?”

“Yes. However, my ability can be considered normal compared to my cousins.”

“Haha, no need to be humble. We all know that the Star family is one of the best for fire-related ability.”

The boy seemed to be quite embarrassed as he scratched his head. Continuing after that, the last member of the team introduced herself. She is a calm-looking woman with long hair and a black suit that enhances her body curves.

“My name is Linda Scarlet. My ability is quite rare as it is related to shadow.”

“Are you Linda, the shadow dancer?”

Even though Jhonny seemed to be a fan of Linda, Max didn’t even know who she was. His knowledge about the heroes world is still limited.

Jhonny was about to burst out at the loli, but Max and Norton hold him back. To be honest, Max feeling a headache coming looking at the loli girl. She contributes nothing to the team atmosphere and only making it worse with every comment she let out.

“Why don’t you introduce yourself?”

“It’s alright, I know about her. She is Chloe Aurora from the Aurora family. She is said to be one in a century prodigy by her family due to her high water sensitivity. The water dolphin earlier is one of her abilities.”

“Well, her family and mine have several interactions before.”

“Just make sure that you guys won't drag me down, and I’ll carry the team through the first round.”

While Max and his team introduce themselves, Elrisa explains the details of the first round as the map for the competition is being shown on the screen.

The arena's size for the first round isn’t that big since forty teams will compete simultaneously with a time limit of twenty minutes to make sure that it will be full of exciting actions and won’t waste time.

“Alright, first arena, team 1 versus team 1021. Second arena…”

Elrisa called out forty teams, and Max’s team isn’t included in the first round. This gives him the chance to see how the other team does it and plan their strategy later.

The rest of the participants waited on the side while 200 D-rank heroes entered the arena. There will only four rounds for the first stage as the number of heroes right now is 800 people.

Max looked at the twenty screens displayed, and he found someone he is familiar with.

“Is that Giovanni Goldlock?”

“Eh, where? He’s famous since he has S-rank speed. This has never occurred before, so he is catching everyone's attention as they hoped him to be another S-rank hero in the future.
