Last day of training

Days flashed by, and without them knowing, their training is already reaching the end.

“I can’t imagine that this is the last night we’re staying at this place. Man, these days flew so fast. I think I’m going to miss this place.”

“Heh, are you seriously saying that, Alan? If I recall correctly, you’re the one who cried the most and asking to go home when we first arrived here.”

“H-huh, I didn’t remember I done that. I am sure it was you, Iki.”

“No, you.”

“No, you.”

Iki and Alan looked at each other and laughed together. After one month of training together, naturally, the friendship between them got closer. Even Elica, who usually doesn’t express anything behind her cold countenance, has the corner of her lips curved upwards.

Kieran and Giovanni are busy talking to each other too, as they come from prominent family backgrounds and have many things in common. Not to mention, Kieran has gotten a lot of pointers from Giovanni. After all, sound and lights are something intangible, yet Giovanni could control it better than Kieran. Kieran managed to catch up throughout the training, but Giovanni returned with taking one step ahead of him in the next session.

“Look who is there. I thought the training junkie wouldn’t join us.”

“Of course not, this is the last night, so at least I want to spend it all with you guys.”

Iki teased Max as, throughout the camp, he never stopped training every night. Whenever the group is resting, Max is still training his control of oxygen alone until late at night. The group also realized that one of the reasons Max managed to defeat them is because of his hard work. They felt bitter about losing to Max at first, but the feeling disappeared after they knew him better.

“Here, drink this.”

Iki offered him a warm drink which they have brewed earlier. Master Tenshi also watched them with a smile as the atmosphere is very warm. Of course, the group offered a drink which he didn’t refuse.

“Alright, since this is the last night that you’ll be spending here, you guys should take it easy. If there’re questions that you want to ask, you better do it now. Later on, I won’t bother with you guys anymore.”

“Master Tenshi, are you throwing us out? As they said, a teacher for a day, a father for a lifetime. Since you have become our teacher for one month, you shall become my father for thirty lifetimes.”

“Who wants a brute child like you?”

Iki tried to hug Master Tenshi’s leg while the other party tried to free himself. Looking at the funny interaction, everyone laughed, and the lively ambiance continues. Max takes a sip of his drink and feels very happy. After all, this can be considered the first time he spends time with people that he could call friends.

Iki, the blazing and passionate youth that is full of energy. He could always make the situation brighter with his silly antics. Alan, the timid boy who turned ferocious once he transformed. Surprisingly, he is a smart boy, which could be seen from his glasses. That is also why he could always come up with surprise tactics whenever they sparred.

Kieran, the social butterfly that regained his confidence because he discovered a new side of his power. He has a vast network and knowledge. His martial arts is also one of the best and could be said to be the most balanced out of everyone here.

Giovanni increased his overall stats and became even more formidable. His speed isn’t improved by much, but he could sustain it for a longer time due to the training. If Max fights with him again, there’s no telling who will win. After all, their last fight also got interrupted, and although Max has shown improvement through this camp, Giovanni isn’t staying still either.

Elica also showed another side of her. Under the icy face, there is a competitive fire burning. Unlike her ladylike appearance, she didn’t mind being covered in sweat and dirt as she persists in the training. She even becomes the first person that managed to push the ball to the top of the slope, and it causes a large still among the rest since they lost to the only woman in the group.

Max himself become the first person to complete the balloon training as the wind have an advantage for this test. After that, he focuses the rest of his training to feel out the oxygen every time he uses his ability. The gains that he got from this camp could be said to be the biggest as he discovered his true power.

Getting out of his daze, Max indeed has some questions for Master Tenshi. Hearing that they might not get the chance again, he didn’t hesitate to ask while the rest is also joining in the Q&A session.

“Master Tenshi, since we’re as a C-rank candidate is trained by you, what happened to the B-rank, A-rank, and S-rank candidate?”

“Of course, they went through the same thing. The only difference is the trainer. As for B-rank and A-rank candidates, they are being trained by Alexandra. As for S-rank candidates, it was Mighty Red who is in charge of them.”

“Woah!”

Hearing that, all of the people present let out an amazement cry. It seemed that the United Heroes Association didn’t hold back at all. It can be said that all of the trainers are of S-rank.

“Master, can we really not contact you again after going out from this camp?”

“Well, what are you going to contact me for? After all, I’ve told you guys all that I’ve known for this one month. How far you could improve in the future or how much you could gain is depending on you. Even a bird has to leave their nest when they grow up. are you saying you want always to be pampered by me?”

“Ah, of course not, Master Tenshi. It’s just sad that we need to say goodbye after getting familiar with each other.”

“Don’t worry, when you reach A-rank or even S-rank one day, there will be a chance for us to work together in the same mission.”

After hearing that, Iki’s eye, which is slightly sad as they need to say farewell to Master Tenshi, lit up.

“Alright then, Master Tenshi, I will become an S-rank, and we’ll meet again. When that time comes, don’t act like you don’t know me.”

“Me too, I’ll become an S-rank.”

“Me too.”

Looking at the teenager group he taught for one month, making their determination to reach S-rank, Master Tenshi’s eye became moist. After all, just like watching his grandson and granddaughter, he will be missing these people, but he can’t spoil them any further. They need to go out and temper themselves to become reputable heroes. He can only pray that none of them died before they meet again in the future. After all, the heroes' world is not a playground as they need to face the villain and the higher their rank is, the higher the chance for them to lose their lives as the enemy they need to face becomes stronger.

“Alright then, it’s getting late. You guys need to pack up and make sure that nothing is left behind.”

“Yes.”
