Giovanni vs Beastboy

You can’t look down on a hero with body manipulation. Although they looked less flashy on the outside, the power that they could unleash is no joke. For example, S-rank hero Alexandra the great. Many people think she is powerful because of her S-rank, but she also started out from the bottom rank and honed her power.

Body manipulation heroes could be said to be the original form of heroes as heroes are names for those who succeed in breaking the limitation of an ordinary human. Body manipulation heroes are breaking the simplest form of the limit, which is the physical capabilities. Unleashing power three, five, or even ten times greater than what a normal person could.

Right now, Giovanni didn’t know whether Beastboy capabilities of moving at speed 8x of normal is his limit or not. Not to mention he couldn’t judge how much of his strength is increased too. Seeing that Beastboy is still in the distance and not rushing towards him, Giovanni launches another ray of lights at Beastboy in succession.

At first, Beastboy managed to dodge it with ease, but as the number of attacks increased, some of the attacks started to graze his body. Burning the fur on his body, and let out a burnt smell in the air. Realizing that, Beastboy growled at Giovanni, and he decided to run forward.

Right now, Beastboy is running on all fours just like a real wolf. His sight never leaves Giovanni as he is aiming for him. When he got near, he swings his arms at him. Right now, Beastboy arms have been transformed into wolf paws with sharp claws too.

Beastboy lunged at Giovanni, and just when his claws are inches away from Giovanni, Giovanni’s body flashed. He is already a few meters away as Beastboy missed his target. If Max could still catch Beastboy's movement using his eye, he couldn’t see how Giovanni moved at all.

Although it is said that the speed of light is 299.792.458 meters per second, a human body couldn’t possibly handle the burden of moving that fast. There must be a limit to how fast Giovanni could move, but Max just couldn’t catch it with his eye.

Of course, there’re so many heroes watching this match, and some could catch Giovanni’s movement. Even Alexandra, who is overseeing the event from her base, acknowledged Giovanni’s speed.

“What do you think about that boy?”

The one who is asking that is a woman with long curly hair and looked very cute. She donned short-rim glasses, and it makes her looked smart. The woman is Marcheline, Alexandra’s support.

“There is no doubt that his speed is of S-rank. If there’s nothing surprising, he will be the winner of this competition. There just nobody that could rival his speed at D-rank.”

“Then, what about Elica?”

“Oh, that girl that once come here for an internship? Well, she isn’t bad. Her ability is well-rounded, not to mention her ice elements. However, I don’t think she could stop Giovann’s speed. I told you, his speed is already S-rank. If someone wants to defeat him in this competition, they need to realize something.”

“What is it, Alexandra? Tell me, don’t keep me in suspense.”

“I think you have realized it too. Why don’t you tell me, what do you think.”

“Is it about his energy?”

“Yes. You’ve seen his past match. It is finished very quickly. The reason for that is not only because of his speed but also because he needs to end it as fast as possible. The longer the match goes, the slower he will get. In the end, moving at S-rank speed isn’t easy, and the energy consumption will be great.”

“However, I doubt anyone can force him long enough until he runs out of fuel.”

“Well, I am still hoping that it wasn’t Elica that will face Giovanni.”

Marcheline thinks for a while before she realized what Alexandra implied with her earlier sentence.

“Do you think that boy you meet at the sewer has a chance?”

“I don’t know. But everyone loves a story about underdogs coming out on top. Not to mention when we meet at the sewer, he gives me a feeling that there’s something in him.”

“What do you mean?”

“Have you read the last information you give to me about him?”

“Yes, what is it?”

“Did you see the name of his agency?”

“Agency? K-agency? Wait, Kalina’s agency?”

“Do you know any hero of the name Kalina?”

Marcheline then searched for the name using her computer, and finally, she stumbled into the information that she needed.

“Kalina, a former A-rank hero and currently working as a psychiatrist at United Heroes academy.”

“Oh, so it seemed that her information had been covered up.”

“What is this all about? Even your S-rank authority couldn’t access it?”

“Well, if we’re talking about her background, then it wasn’t strange. Her father is someone special, after all. She also started her hero career in the same year as me, and we meet once for a spar.”

“Really? You make me more interested in her. So, what about the sparring result?”

“I lost very badly. I couldn’t retaliate at all.”

“How is that possible?”

“Her ability is one of the rarest ones since I never heard anyone else could perform the same ability. Not to mention when we spar, she isn’t even using her full power. Anyway, don’t get too interested in her since even if the higher up decided to clear her background, I couldn’t tell you anything, or I will be reprimanded later.”

“Not fair! You make me more interested in her.”

“Nevermind about that. We better pay attention to the match again.”

Marcheline pouted, and no matter how hard she begs, Alexandra just won’t tell her more about Kalina. She quickly accepted it as the match on the screen is taking her attention as it is already reaching deciding moments.

The match between Giovanni and Beastboy isn’t proceeding as many have predicted. Beastboy's body is now covered in wounds from Giovanni’s light ray, but he isn’t backing down at all. He keeps persisting in moving forward and attacking Giovanni, although he hasn't succeeded so far.
